뜨거웠던 2015년도 아시아 MBA 입학지원도 모두 끝났습니다. 올해도 북경대, 칭화대, 홍콩대, 홍콩과기대, 홍콩중문대, 싱가폴국립대,난양공대, CEIBS, Fudan대, 상해교통대에 제번 많은 후보자들이 지원을 하였습니다. 아시아 명문대 MBA에 지원하기 위하여 나름대로 열심 GMAT점수와 영어점수를 만들어서 도전을 했지요!
북경대, 칭화대등 중국MBA들은 영어점수를 요구하지는 않습니다. 대신 영어인터뷰가 매우 중요합니다. 영어점수를 만드는 것이 오히려 더 편할 정도로 영어인터뷰는 매우 준비를 잘 해야합니다. 인터뷰까지 갔다는 것은 합격의 가능성이 있는 것이고 면접관과 얼마나 면접을 잘하느냐에 따라서 조금 낮은 GMAT점수는 문제가 안될 수 있습니다.
이번에 북경대에 합격한 반달곰원장의 후보자가 북경대 인터뷰한 이야기를 간략히 정리하여 주었습니다. 미리 MBA인터뷰 준비는 도와드렸지만 후보자가 워낙 영어를 잘하였을 뿐만 아니라 태도가 매우 좋아서 면접관이 좋아했던 것 같습니다. 역시 사람과 사람이 하는 일이라 면접관과의 교감이 매우 중요함을 알 수가 있습니다.
그래도 인터뷰때 어떤 내용을 가지고 인터뷰를 했는지, 어떤 질문을 하였는지 알고서 인터뷰를 하면 당연히 도움이 되겠지요. 적을 알고 나를 알면 백전백승이지요. 반달곰원장의 후보자가 이렇게 정보를 공뷰할 정도로 좋은 인품을 가지고 있었기에 GMAT점수는 높지 않은 590점이었지만 거뜬히 합격 할 수 있었던 것 같습니다. 그럼 북경대 MBA 질문내용과 어떤 식으로 답변을 하였는지 알려드리겠습니다.

Briefly introduce yourself. 저의 bio에 대해서 3분 정도 간단하게 설명을 하였습니다.
It seems that you have a short time of working experience. But why MBA now?
going to MBA is the first step for me to enter the Chinese market. I always look for new opportunities and I do believe that East Asian market has much more potential to grow than Western market does. Moreover, in Chinese society, the network plays a very important role in the society, and right now is the time for me to learn about the market and join the network.

What is your old and current job.
I mostly have worked as a marketing manager for both companies. For the current job, because we are the startup company, not only I have to work on the marketing strategy, but also I have to work on everything little by little including sales and event planning. Also, having a good relationship with our clients is my job.
Please briefly explain about your current company.
My company is located in NYC, and our job is to organize parties or events for corporations such as Goldman Sachs, Chase, and Macy's. We have many vendors that can help us setting up events, and we are expanding our business to catering these days.
Why China? Why not Korea?
I do believe that China is and will be the only country that can compete with US in every industry, and also, Korea has to depend on Chinese economy. Moreover, Chinese market itself is much bigger than Korean market. Since I am a multi-cultural guy, I love to challenge myself to explore a new world, and I believe that China is where my dream is focused.
질문이 많지는 않습니다. 그리고 보통은 예상할 수 있는 내용의 질문입니다. 그러나 그것을 어떻게 답을 하느냐는 완전히 다른 문제입니다. 면접관과 어떤 분위기속에서 대화를 나누고 자신감있게 보이면서도 겸손할 수 있을지를 연습해야 합니다. 그래서 인간적으로 저런 후보자라면 꼭 우리 MBA로 입학시켜야 하겠다라는 생각을 갖게 해주어야 합니다.
