드디어 다음주 토요일에 캐리비안의 신흥 명문의대 Trinity School of Medicine의 입학설명회가 반달곰원장 회사의 세미나룸에서 진행됩니다. 진지하게 입학을 고민하는 분만을 초청하느라 매우 엄선해서 초청을 하고 있는데 반달곰원장의 세심함에 아직 자리가 여럿 남아 있으므로 해외의대, 국제의대를 원하는 분들은 반달곰원장에게 참가여부를 문의하시길 바랍니다.
트리니티의대는 매년 가을 입학뿐만 아니라 1월 입학도 있어서 우리나라 학생들처럼 수능시험을 마무리 한 학생들은 나중에 대학교에서 기초과학공부등을 하고 한국의대는 힘들고 미국의사나 캐나다 의사가 되고 싶은 경우 바로 트리니티의대 입학지원을 고려하시길 바랍니다. 선수과목으로 생물, 화학, 물리등 과학 공부를 하였고 영어회화 능력이 있으면 입학 지원이 가능합니다. 영어토플이나 IELTS는 제출하지 않아도 됩니다. 인터뷰로 실력을 갈음합니다.
기본적으로 필요한 입학지원조건을 살펴보면 아래와 같습니다.
Undergraduate Credit Hours
A minimum of 90 credit hours (or equivalent) and the completion of the required courses below prior to matriculation.
Required Courses
Biology with Lab - one academic year with laboratory experience. Advanced placement credits cannot be used to satisfy this requirement; upper level courses should be taken if granted advance placement credits.
General/Inorganic Chemistry with Lab – one academic year.
Organic Chemistry with Lab - one academic year. A semester of biochemistry (with or without lab) may substitute for the 2nd semester of organic chemistry.
Mathematics – one semester of college level mathematics, calculus or statistics highly recommended.
English – any non-science courses that involve expository writing will satisfy this requirement.
While physics is not a requirement, to be well prepared, students are encouraged to seek courses that provide a foundational understanding of fluids, gases, and pressure variations.
Pre-requisite courses may not have been completed more than ten years prior to the date of application.
MCAT
Medical College Admissions Test scores are required for U.S. and Canadian applicants (and strongly encouraged for all applicants). Scores must be from exams taken within the past four years.
즉, 대학교때 생물, 화학, 수학, 영어등 기초 과목들을 선수과목으로 이수하여야 합니다. 그리고 다행스럽게 한국 학생들은 MCAT시험점수가 없어도 입학지원이 가능합니다. 그러나, 미국이나 캐나다 학생들은 MCAT점수가 필요하므로 반드시 준비하셔야 하고 유효기간 4년이내여야 합니다.

Application and Supporting Documentation
The following items must be provided for admissions consideration:
Completed Application for Admission - Applicants may submit Trinity School of Medicine's online Application or a current and processed AMCAS, AACOMAS, TMDSAS, or OMSAS Application in pdf form.
Application fee of $50 (U.S.)
Letter(s) of Recommendation - Must come directly from the letter writer. Recommended sources are your University Pre-health advising office, professors, physicians, supervisors who are not family members and who can confirm the applicant’s academic ability and/or provide evidence of positive character traits. This requirement may be satisfied with one packet by a combined committee that prepares such letters otherwise, two letters must be provided, one of which must be from an academic source. Applicants may utilize our reference request form to initiate the process.
Transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended—undergraduate colleges, graduate and/or professional programs attended. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable to initiate the admissions process. Prior to matriculation, official transcripts from each institution must be submitted directly to the Office of Admissions from the issuing institution.

Trinity School of Medicine 의 학비는 아래와 같습니다.
TUITION (effective September, 2019)
Basic Science Tuition: Terms I-V
$ 14,200 per term
Clinical Medicine Tuition: Terms VI-X
$ 15,700 per term
연간 3만달러 내외의 경제적인 학비입니다. 인근 세인트조지대학교 의대학비가 term당 3만불이 넘는 학비이기에 1년에 내는 학비가 약 6만3천불정도가 됩니다. 트리니티의대 학비의 두배 정도가 됩니다. 반달곰원장이 생각하기에는 교수와 학생비율이 낮고 그리고 미국, 캐나다에서의 레지던트가 가능한데다가 나중에 의사면허시험을 볼 수 있기에 같은 조건이라면 학비가 경제적인 트리니티의대가 훨씬 좋을 것이라고 생각합니다.
이번 입학설명회를 반달곰원장이 주최하지만 진행은 트리니티의대에서 Director of Admission 인 Warren Ison 이 직접 와서 진행을 합니다. 그래서 기본적으로 영어를 할 수 있어서 그의 프리젠테이션을 이해하실 수 있습니다. 물론 반달곰원장이 있지만 통역을 제공하지는 않습니다. 해외의대를 생각하는데 아직 영어실력이 안되시는 분들은 참석하시면 어려움이 있을 것이니 영어에 문제 없는 분들만 오시는 것이 좋겠습니다.
