오늘은 어제 소개해드린 시카고 남부의 명문대학교인 University of Chicago Booth MBA의 입학지원을 안내해드렸는데 오늘은 시카고의 북부 에반스톤의 Northwestern Kellogg MBA에 대해서 말씀드리겠습니다. Kellogg Business School을 반달곰원장이 방문했었는데 미시간호수옆에 있는 아름다운 캠퍼스가 기억나네요.
Kellogg MBA에 대해서 반달곰원장이 많이 설명을 드렸지만 아직도 잘 모르시는 분들이 있는데 Kellogg MBA에는 1년MBA와 2년 풀타임MBA가 있다는 사실입니다. 보통 명문대학교 MBA는 2년과정의 풀타임MBA인데 노스웨스턴 명문MBA인 캘로그가 1년MBA를 제공하다니 정말 희소식입니다. 그럼 1년MBA와 2년MBA의 특징과 차이를 간단히 알아보겠습니다.

위에서 보시다시피 1년MBA는 학부때나 다른 대학원에서 business 공부를 하셨고 커리어 목표에 촛점을 맞춘 분들에게 맞는 프로그램인데 core course를 넘어서 커리어 목표에 달성할 수 있도록 선택과목을 바로 수강하도록 해주고 네트웍을 만들 수 있도록 해주는 프로그램입니다. 6월에 시작해서 6월에 졸업을 합니다.
그리고 우리가 알고 있는 2년 풀타임MBA의 과정은 9월 시작이고 그 다음 다음해 6월에 졸업을 합니다. MBA과정을 위한 코어 필수과목을 공부하고 커리어 개발을 원하는 학생들에게는 이 프로그램이 좋습니다. 여름방학에 인텁쉽을 할 수가 있어서 미국에서 커리어를 만들고자 하는 분들에게는 좋은 과정입니다. 그래서 2년MBA에 대한 입학지원일정과 입학조건을 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.

입학지원일정을 살펴보면 1랑누드 마감일이 9월 18일입니다. 시카고대학교 MBA보다도 지원일정이 조금 빠릅니다. 그리고 2라운드 마감일은 1월 9일, 마지막 3라운드 마감일은 4월 10일 입니다. 그러니 1월 9일 2라운드 마감일 까지 집중해서 입학지원 준비를 하면 좋겠습니다. admission checklist는 아래와 같습니다.

위의 에세이질문을 살펴보면 질문이 많지는 않습니다. 그리고 MIT Sloan MBA처럼 비디오 에세이가 있습니다. 이 비디오 에세이에 대해서는 좀 더 신중하게 준비를 해야 할 것입니다. 마지막으로 학비를 살펴보면 다음과 같습니다.
1년MBA의 경우 학비는 98720달러이고 2년MBA의 1년학비는 71544달러입니다. 2년과정이므로 약 143000달러입니다. 상당히 비싼 학비이나 노스웨스턴 켈로그MBA가 워낙 마케팅에 강하고 유명하기에 충분히 도전할 수 있는 MBA입니다. 1라운드 지원 마감일이 9월 18일이니 약 두달 정도 남았습니다. 입학지원준비를 잘 마무리하시길 부탁드리고 도움이 필요하면 반달곰원장에게 문의하시길 바랍니다.
