지난번에 미국 일리노이주 시카고에 있는 University of Chicago Booth MBA에 대해서 안내를 해드렸었는데 같은 시카고지역에 있는 정확히는 시카고북쪽에 있는 Evanston에 있는 Northwestern University 의 Kellogg School of Management의 MBA 프로그램에 대해서 알아보도록 하겠습니다. Kellogg MBA가 특별한 이유는 다른 탑랭킹 MBA와는 다르게 Full Time MBA뿐만 아니라 1년 MBA를 제공한다는 것입니다. 구체적으로 어느 학생들을 타겟팅하는지 아래와 같이 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.

1년MBA는 학부에서 Business Education 경영학을 공부하셨던 분에게 필수과목들은 이미 공부를 하였기에 bypass하고 선택과목을 공부하고 MBA학위를 받는 과정입니다. 매년 6월에 시작하여 6월에 졸업을 하는 과정입니다. 그리고 2년MBA는 정상적으로 9월에 시작하여 그 다다음해 6월에 졸업하는 과정입니다. 그래서 오늘은 2년MBA를 중심으로 설명을 하도록 하겠습니다. 그럼 먼저 2년MBA 입학지원 일정에 대해서 알아보겠습니다.

1라운드 지원은 9월 20일, 2라운드 지원은 1월 10일에 마감을 합니다. 마지막 라운드는 4월 11일에 마감을 합니다. 이런 지원일정에 맞추어서 지원서류를 준비해야 하는데 GMAT, IBT, 대학성적증명서, 추천서 등이 필요합니다. Kellogg MBA는 MIT Sloan MBA처럼 비디오에세이를 요청하고 있으니 잘 준비하여야 합니다. 그럼 지원준비서류 중에 가장 중요한 에세이 질문을 살펴보면 아래와 같습니다.
Essay Questions
For 2017-2018, the following two essays are required of all applicants:
- Kellogg’s purpose is to educate, equip & inspire brave leaders who create lasting value. Tell us about a time you have demonstrated leadership and created lasting value. What challenges did you face, and what did you learn? (450 words)
- Pursuing an MBA is a catalyst for personal and professional growth. How have you grown in the past? How do you intend to grow at Kellogg? (450 words)
All applicants have the opportunity to provide explanations or clarification in Additional Information:
- If needed, use this section to briefly describe any extenuating circumstances (e.g. unexplained gaps in work experience, choice of recommenders, inconsistent or questionable academic performance, etc.) (no word count)
시카고대학교와 함께 시카고를 대표하는 Kellogg MBA 는 specialization을 제공하는데 accounting, economics, finance, marketing, operations, strategy, managing organizations 등 입니다. 우리나라 직장인들이 좋아하는 회계, 경제, 마케팅, 전략등 다양한 전공들을 제공하고 있으므로 본인의 커리에 맞추어서 잘 준비하면 좋겠습니다.
