오늘은 얼마전에 세계MBA 랭킹을 발표한 이코노미스트지의 순위를 가지고 말씀을 드리고자 합니다. MBA랭킹을 발표하기 위해서는 그들만의 methodology를 이용하여 그 것을 근거로 하여 순위를 발표하는데 이코노미스트지의 methodology는 아래의 항목을 바탕으로 이루어지고 있습니다.

이런 방법을 바탕으로 평가하여 나온 순위는 매우 흥미롭습니다. 1위는 시카고의 명문대학교인 Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management가 차지하였습니다. 하버드도 아니고 스탠포드도 아닌 노스웨스턴대학교 켈로그MBA가 1위를 차지한 랭킹지는 정말 처음인 것 같습니다. 2위는 같은 시카고의 명문대학교인 University of Chicago Booth School of Business 가 차지하여 시카고대학교의 명성을 드러내고 있습니다. 반달곰원장은 노스웨스턴대학교와 시카고대학교의 중간인, 다운타운에 있는 University of Illinois at Chicago MBA를 다녔는데 정말 엄청난 차이를 느끼게 되네요.

3위는 하버드대학교, 4위는 Upenn Wharton School, 5위는 스탠포드대학교의 GSB가 차지하였습니다. 6위와 7위는 캘리포니아주립대학교들이 힘을 내고 있습니다. UCLA Anderson MBA가 6위, UC Berkeley Haas MBA가 7위를 차지하였습니다. 8위는 Dartmouth College의 Turk MBA, 9위는 콜롬비아대학교 MBA, 10위는 University of Virginia Darden MBA가 차지하였습니다.

14위의 NYU Stern MBA까지가 미국 MBA로 채워져 있는데 15위에 가서야 프랑스의 HEC School of Management Paris 가 나옵니다. 16위는 The University of Queensland Business School 이 차지하였습니다. 17위는 University of Navarra 의 IESE Business School 을 차지하는데 스페인비즈니스스쿨중에서는 1위를 차지합니다. 18위는 영국대학교의 1위를 차지한 University of Warwick, Warwick Business School입니다. 옥스포드, 캠브리지, LBS를 누르고 Warwick이 1위를 차지한 것은 참으로 이채롭습니다.

반달곰원장이 지난주에 지원서 마감을 한 Emory University Goizueta MBA가 33위를 차지하였고 반달곰원장이 10월에 방문을한 스페인 IE Business School이 34위를 차지하였습니다. 39위는 만하임대학교의 Mannheim Business School이 차지하여 독일 MBA에서는 1위를 차지하였습니다. 바로 하나건너 뒤인 41위에 베를린 ESMT MBA가 차지하였습니다. 그리고 54위를 Hult International Business School차지하여 점점 성장해가는 Hult MBA의 모습을 볼 수가 있습니다.
