뉴욕대학교 비즈니스 스쿨인 Stern이 US News & World Report 2022의 Best Business School에서 다트머스대학교의 Tuck 과 공동으로 10위를 차지했습니다. 뉴욕대학교는 미국 현지 학생들에게도 진학하고 싶어하는 꿈의 대학으로 손꼽히는 곳으로 본교는 뉴욕 맨하튼의 워싱턴 스퀘어 캠퍼스가 있고, 중국 상해, UAE의 아부다비에서 해외 캠퍼스도 운영하고 있습니다.
뉴욕대의 Stern School of Business의 MBA과정은 QS 세계대학랭킹 2021의 Global MBA 부문에서 19위를 차지했는데요. 이는 예일대 SOM 다음의 순위이자 앤아버의 미시간대 Ross보다 앞선 순위입니다. 아이비리그에 속하지 않지만, 뉴아이비리그 학교로도 불리고 있습니다. 이는 2021년 가을학기에 합격한 신입생의 경우 12%의 합격율을 보면 알 수 있는데요. 상위 1%의 이내의 성적을 가진 학생들만이 합격을 하는 최상위권 대학임을 증명하고 있습니다.
뉴욕대 Stern이 제공하는 MBA 과정은 크게 5가지로 구분합니다.

Tech MBA와 Fashion & Luxury MBA과정은 1년만에 학위를 취득하는 전문화된 MBA이고, Full-time MBA과정은 보통의 다른 MBA가 그러하듯 2년과정으로 총 60학점을 이수해야 합니다.
Stern의 MBA과정은 20개 이상의 옵션에서 최대 3개의 전공(Specialization)을 고를 수 있으며, 그리고, NYU의 다른 대학원이나 파트너 대학에서 최대 25%가량의 과목을 고를 수 있습니다. 선택과목은 최고의 연구원과 산업계 리더가 가르치며, 선택의 폭은 200개 이상이 넘습니다.
스턴의 학생들은 여름 학기에 채용 프로그램에 참여하며, 세계 곳곳에서 인턴십을 하게 됩니다.

두 번째 해에는 선택과목 및 Specialization으로 이루어지는 수업을 듣고, 세계 10곳이 넘는 곳에서 글로벌 비즈니스를 경험합니다.
2022년 가을학기 입학 지원은 현재 오픈 중이며, GMAT이나 GRE 시험 이외에도 EA, LSAT, MCAT, DAT과 같은 시험 성적도 받고 있습니다.

Stern의 에세이는 지원자의 경험, 목표에 대한 통찰력을 얻을 수 있는 중요한 자료로 에세이 구성은 다음과 같이 Short answer, Essay 1~3로 구성됩니다.

In today’s global business environment, the only constant is change. Using NYU Stern’s brand call to action, we want to know how you view change. Change: _____ it. Fill in the blank with a word of your choice. Why does this word resonate with you? How will you embrace your own personal tagline while at Stern? Examples:

Essay 2: Personal Expression (a.k.a. "Pick Six")
Describe yourself to the Admissions Committee and to your future classmates using six images and corresponding captions. Your uploaded PDF should contain all of the following elements:
- A brief introduction or overview of your "Pick Six" (no more than 3 sentences).
- Six images that help illustrate who you are.
- A one-sentence caption for each of the six images that helps explain why they were selected and are significant to you.
Note: Your visuals may include photos, infographics, drawings, or any other images that best describe you. Your document must be uploaded as a single PDF. The essay cannot be sent in physical form or be linked to a website.
Essay 3: Additional Information (optional)

에세이 3은 추가 정보로 선택 사항입니다. 여기에 현재직장과 과거 직장 사이의 공백기간을 설명할 수 있고, 학부 성적에 대한 진술, 자기가 기재한 학교 성적, GMAT이나 GRE 재응시 계획 등 입학신청과 관련해서 추가 정보를 제공할 수 있습니다.
EQ Endorsement는 일종의 추천서라 할 수 있으며, 2부를 제출해야 합니다. 하나는 반드시 현재 직장상사로부터 받아야 하며, 보증인 혹은 추천인은 지원자에 관한 능력과 자격에 관한 것을 숫자로 등급을 매기는 것과 함께 다음의 다섯 개의 질문에 대한 답변을 달아야 합니다.
- Please provide a brief description of your interaction with the applicant and, if applicable, the applicant's role in your organization.
- How does the applicant's performance compare to that of other well-qualified individuals in similar roles (if applicable)? Please provide specific examples. (E.g. what are the applicant's principal strengths?)
- Describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant's response.
- IQ+EQ is a core value of NYU Stern, and we seek exceptional individuals who possess both intellectual and interpersonal strengths. Emotional intelligence (EQ) skills such as self-awareness, empathy, communication and self-management are at the core of our community of leaders. Please provide one specific and compelling example to demonstrate the applicant's emotional intelligence.

풀타임 MBA의 입학신청은 네 번의 전형으로 진행되며, 초기 합격자발표에서 인터뷰 초대, 대기자 명단 혹은 탈락 등으로 지원자는 통보를 받게 됩니다.
