플로리다 대학교의 비즈니스 스쿨인 Warrington College of Business는 AACSB 인증을 받은 곳으로 파이낸셜 타임즈의 글로벌 MBA 2021랭킹에서 IE 비즈니스 스쿨의 다음 순위를 기록했습니다. US News & World Report의 ‘Best Graduate Schools 2020’ 랭킹에서 Fulltime MBA의 경우, 미국 내 Top 10에 속하고, Part-time MBA는 Top 20에 들고 있습니다.
UF의 MBA는 다음과 같이 구분됩니다.
- Executive MBA
- Full-time MBA
- Online MBA
- Weekend Professional MBA
MBA 학위 과정 중에 직장에 다니면서 학업을 병행할 수도 있겠지만, 국제학생 신분으로 플로리다 대학에서 공부를 하려면 풀타임 MBA에 참여하는 것이 최선인 상황입니다.
UF의 풀타임 MBA과정에 대해 자세히 알고 싶다면, Information Session에 참여하는 것도 좋습니다. 요즘은 온라인 세션으로 진행되며, 최근에 있는 일정은 다음과 같습니다. 시간은 미국/동부 시간 기준입니다.
- MAR 24 : UF MBA Information Session, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
- APR 8 : Virtual Forté MBA Forum,1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
- APR 20 : UF OEM/MBA Online Info Session, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
풀타임 포맷의 MBA 역시 세 가지로 나뉘며, 캠퍼스에서 이루어지는 다양한 이 풀타임 과정은 다양한 학력과 직장 경력을 가진 개인을 위해 고안되었습니다.
- One-Year: 10 months, undergraduate business degrees within 7 years
- One-Year: 12 months, any academic undergraduate degree
- Two-Year: 22 months, any academic undergraduate degree
7개월 이내에 경영 관련 학사 학위를 취득한 경우라면, 1년 풀타임 MBA를 신청할 수 있고, 비전공자여도 1년 혹은 2년 안에 MBA 학위를 취득할 수 있습니다.
위의 과정 중 비전공자의 1년 MBA과정에 대해서 알아보겠습니다. 경력 단절이 걱정이라면, 학위 과정은 짧으면 짧을수록 자신에게 유리할 것입니다.
12개월 과정의 수업은 2021년 5월 3일에 시작하며, 입학 신청은 3라운드에 걸쳐 진행되는데, 국제학생이라면, 입학 전년도의10월 15일까지 지원해야 해서 보통의 학위과정보다 일찍 시작하는 만큼 신청 마감도 빠릅니다.
이 과정은 가속화된 일정을 가지고 있는 만큼 여름학기에 시작하는데, 16개의 핵심 비즈니스 과목 중 10개를 이때 마칠 수 있으며, 그 다음 가을 및 봄학기에 나머지 필수과목과 9개의 선택과목을 수강하게 됩니다. 여름학기에 학생들이 들어야 하는 수업은 다음과 같습니다.

MBA지원자의 입학 심사는 지적 능력, 관리 능력, 공동체와의 관련성, 의사소통 능력, 동기, 성숙도, 경력 중점도와 리더십 잠재력 등 여러가지를 보고 평가합니다.
지원에 앞서 준비해야 하는 서류로는 아래와 같습니다.
- 이력서
- 대학 성적/졸업 증명서
- 추천서
- GRE/GMAT 점수
- 공인영어 성적
토플 점수로는 초소 80점 이상, IELTS로는 6.0 이상이어야 합니다.
UF MBA에 지원 시 빠질 수 없는 것이 바로 에세이인데, 두가지 유형의 질문에 답변을 달아야 합니다. 하나는 짧게 답해서 1천자 제한으로 다음의 질문에 답변을 다는 것입니다.
1. In order of importance to you, list significant extracurricular activities, professional associations, and civic organizations in which you have participated in school, work, or the community. Also please indicate years of participation and any leadership positions you held.
2. Describe any significant cross cultural experiences you had outside your home country, including study abroad, exchange programs, extensive international travel, or residence in another country (include dates).
3. List below any other interests, hobbies, or recreational activities you currently pursue in your free time.
4. Please describe any academic, professional, or civic honors or awards you received, patents you've been issued, books you've authored, or any other significant accomplishments you would like the admissions committee to consider.
5. Explain the primary factors that influenced your decision to apply to the UF MBA Program.
다른 하나는 다음의 질문에 5500자 제한으로 답을 달아야 합니다.
1. Describe how you would like to see your career develop. Explain how your academic background, prior professional experience, and the UF MBA will help you achieve your career goals. If your career goals are international or you are an international student, please include as part of your career plan in what country or region you plan to seek employment following completion of the program.
2. Full-Time MBA Applicants Only - Describe success you achieved due to self-motivation, persistence, and hard work. What motivated you?
3. Optional – Please share any additional information you think will assist the admissions committee in evaluating your application to the UF MBA Program.
