미국대학 입학 신청 시즌인만큼 오늘은 코네티컷대학에 입학하기 위해 지원자가 알아야하는 몇 가지 중요한 정보에 대해서 살펴보겠습니다.
학부과정의 신입 지원자는 Common Application이나 Coalition Application 중 하나를 선택해서 온라인으로 지원해야 합니다.
고등학교 학업을 성공적으로 마쳤다는 것을 증명해야 하며, 최소한 16units을 이수해야 하는데, 영어, 수학, 사회과학, 외국어, 과학 등을 수강해야 합니다.

- 3 years of math (algebra I, algebra II, and geometry)
- 2 years of social studies (including 1 year of U.S. history)
- 2 years of a single foreign language (3 years strongly recommended)*
- 2 years of laboratory science
- 3 years of electives
- School of Engineering & School of Nursing applicants: high school chemistry and physics are required.

봄학기 입학 신청은 10월 1일까지 마쳐야 하며, 합격자 발표는 수시로 있습니다.
연기, 예술, 디자인/기술극장, 음악, 인형극과 연극연구는 학부 입학신청서 이외에도 포트폴리오나 오디션 혹은 인터뷰가 요구됩니다.
그리고, 법률, 교육, 의학 및 치의학의 UConn의 특별 프로그램에 지원하는데 관심이 있는 국제학생은 추가적인 입학절차 및 마감일정을 검토해야 합니다.
SAT/ACT 성적 – Optional
UConn에서도 SAT/ACT 성적은 지원자의 결정으로 제출을 하지 않아도 입학심사에서 불이익을 받지 않습니다. 이 시험 성적이 자신의 학업 수행 능력을 정확하게 반영한다고 생각한다면, 제출을 할 수 있으며, 1월 15일까지의 입학신청 마감일에 맞추려면, 이 시험은 늦어도 12월 전에는 치러야 합니다.
At UConn, we understand that one test may not accurately define a student's academic progress and potential, which is why we are allowing first-year applicants beginning with students applying for Spring 2021 entry and continuing through the next two admissions cycles, the choice to submit standardized test results. No admission decision shall be impacted, and no student disadvantaged if a standardized test score is not provided.
영어가 모국어가 아닌 학생의 경우, 토플은 최소 79점, IELTS는 6.5점, Duolingo는 최소 100점 이상의 점수를 만들어야 하며, 이 최소 점수를 충족한다고 대학으로의 입학을 보장하지 않습니다.
Essay
코네티컷대학교에서 요구하는 에세이는 Common Application이나 Coalition Application에서 요구하는 Personal Essay입니다.
Common Application에서는 7가지 질문이 주어지며, 이중 하나를 선택해서 최대 650단어 이내로 작성하면 됩니다.
Option 1
Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.
Option 2
The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
Option 3
Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?
Option 4
Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma - anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.
Option 5
Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
Option 6
Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?
Option 7
Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you've already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.
