오늘 미국대학교중에서 장학금 혜택을 많이 주는 Norwich University의 학부과정에 대해서 소개해드리겠습니다. 먼저 Norwich University를 소개해드려야 하는데 이 대학교의 full name은 Norwich University- The Military College of Vermont 입니다. Norwich University는 미국에서 가장 오래된 사립 군사학교입니다. 그만큼 Military와 관련이 많습니다. 그리고 ROTC의 탄생지로 인식되어지는 역사와 전통이 있는 대학교입니다.

Residential Undergraduate Programs
많은 전공들이 취업들이 잘되고 유명한데 그중에서 Engineering, Architecture, Biology, Biochemistry, Physics, Math, Business 들은 인기가 많습니다. 그런데 이런 학부과정을 지원하는데 국제학생들에게 GPA에따라서 장학금을 주는데 그 혜택이 매우 큽니다. 장학금에 관련하여 아래와 같이 설명드리겠습니다.
Scholarships and grants are provided to international students. Scholarships are awarded by grade point averages (GPA) on a 4 point scale. We do conversions of grades from different systems to the 4 point scale. An "A" = 4, "B" = 3, "C" = 2, "D" = 1, and "F" = 0.
The scholarships are awarded in these GPA ranges:
- 3.5 to 4.0 GPA = $24,000
- 3.0 to 3.49 GPA = $23,000
- 2.7 to 2.99 GPA = $22,000
International students may apply for additional grants based on financial documentation by submitting this application.
위에서 볼수 있듯이 성적이 3.5-4.0 일 경우는 24000달러, 3.0에서 3.49일때 23000달러, 그리고 2.7-2.99 일 경우에도 장학금이 22000달러입니다. 아래에서 보면 학비가 $35,318입니다. 장학금을 받을 경우에는 학비 부담이 거의 없을 정도입니다. 그리고 Norwich University는 캠퍼스안에 기숙사가 있어서 모든 학생들이 기숙사 생활을 할 수가 있습니다. 이렇게 Norwich University를 다닐때 학비, 생활비등을 예상하면 아래와 같습니다.
We are a residential campus. Typically we do not have students living off campus. The costs for one year are:
- Tuition: $35,318
- Fees: $2,036
- Accommodation and food: $12,920

Application fees will be waived for your students.
Typically we look for students with a 2.7 GPA and above on a 4 point scale. We may be able to make exceptions to that if a student is a strong English-speaking student who is making progress in grades.
TOEFL IBT should be 61 or higher. A 61 is on the very low end for our standards and we will consider a TOEFL this low if a student is strong academically (3.3 or above).
