반달곰원장이 가장 좋아하는 시카고 라는 도시에는 명문 MBA두개가 남북으로 위치해 있습니다. 위로는 Northwestern Kellogg MBA가 있고 아래로는 시카고대학교의 Booth MBA가 있습니다. 물론 두 MBA모두 시카고 다운타운에 다운타운캠퍼스를 두고 야간에 직장인을 상대로 MBA수업을 제공하기도 합니다. 바로 그 둘중의 한 학교인 University of Chicago Booth MBA의 입학지원일정부터 안내하여 드리겠습니다.

시카고 부쓰MBA의 1라운드 지원마감은 9월 17일입니다. 이제 딱 한달 남았네요. 2라운드는 1월 5일이고 마지막 라운드는 4월 5일입니다. 1라운드 지원하고 결과 발표까지는 거의 3달을 기다려야 합니다. 2라운드도 거의 비슷한 시간을 기다려야 합격 당락의 결과를 알 수가 있습니다. 이렇게 늦게 발표하는데는 이유가 있겠지요!^^ 그리고 발표는 admission, waitlist, 그리고 denied admission이라는 세가지 형태로 받을 것입니다.
다음은 에세이에 대해서 말씀드리겠습니다. 시카고 부쓰MBA의 에세이는 다른 학교들과는 사뭇 다릅니다. 16개의 그림중에서 하나를 선택하고 그 그림을 이용하면서 왜 Booth community가 당신에게 가장 잘 맞는지에 대해서 당신 자신의 관점을 가지고 논리적으로 설명하라는 것입니다. 이런 주제를 받으면 벌서 부터 머리에 쥐가 나기 시작합니다. 아무튼 이렇게 화두를 던지면서 제공하는 사진은 무려 16개입니다.
ESSAY QUESTIONS
2015-16 Essay: Chicago Booth values individuality because of what we can learn from the diverse experiences and perspectives of others. This mutual respect creates an open-minded community that supports curiosity, inspires us to think more broadly, take risks, and challenge assumptions. At Booth, community is about collaborative thinking and tapping into each other's different viewpoints to cultivate new ideas and realize breakthrough moments every day.

Essay Guidelines
• Choose the format that works for you. Feel free to submit a traditional essay, slide presentation, or any format that you feel best captures your response. Please use the format you are most comfortable with, the Admissions Committee has no preference.
• Determine your own length. There is no prescribed minimum or maximum length. We trust that you will use your best judgment in determining how long your submission should be, but we recommend that you think strategically about how to best allocate the space.
Technical Guidelines
• File Size: Maximum file size is 16 MB.
• Accepted Upload Formats: Acceptable formats are PDF, Word, and PowerPoint. We strongly recommend converting your piece to a PDF file prior to submitting.
• Multimedia Restrictions: We will be viewing your submission electronically and in full color, but all submissions will be converted to PDF files, so animation, video, music, etc. will not translate over.

Reapplicant Essay: Upon reflection, how has your perspective regarding your future, Chicago Booth, and/or getting an MBA changed since the time of your last application? (300 words maximum)
다행히도 사진은 모두 시카고의 지역에 관한 것이거나 시카고대학교에 관한 내용들입니다. 이런 사진들속에서 자신의 관점을 만들어서 Chicago Booth MBA가 왜 자신에게 적합한지를 논리적으로 기술해야 합니다. 쉬운듯하면서도 매우 어렵습니다. 표현의 방식은 자유롭습니다. 전형적인 에세이 방식도 가능하고 기타 다른 형식의 프리젠테이션이어도 좋습니다. 에세이에 대한 기술적인 명확한 선도 그어놓았습니다.
그 다음으로 중요한 추천서는 역시 2명한테 받아야 합니다. 한명은 반드시 supervisor한테 받아야하고 다른 한명은 조직이나 클럽 자원봉사단체들에서 같이 일한 사람한테 받으라고 되어 있습니다. 그리고 그 분들이 추천서를 작성할 때 유의해야 할 점은 바로 아래의 것입니다.
LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION FORM
The letter of recommendation form is available electronically through the online application system. once you access that system, you will be asked to provide the names and email addresses of your recommenders. We will then send them an email that includes the link to the online form that they will have to complete. Chicago Booth does not accept letters of recommendation via mail or fax.
We ask that recommenders complete a skills assessment for each applicant, as well as submit a letter answering the following questions:
- How does the applicant's performance, potential, background, or personal qualities compare to those of other well-qualified individuals in similar roles? Please provide specific examples.
- Please describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant's response.
