시각 및 공연예술 대학은 전세계 방문학자의 문의를 환영하고 있습니다. 관심있는 방문학자는 CVPA의 학문적, 전문적, 지역사회 활동에 대한 포괄적인 경험을 기대할 수 있습니다. 자격을 갖춘 학자들은 아카데믹 프로그램 중의 하나와 부학장실이 한 학기나 1년 동안 대학에 합류를 요청한 방문학자의 요청을 검토한 후에 학장인 Rick Davis의 초청을 받게 됩니다. 모든 요청 항목은 CVPA가 학자에게 적합한지, 학자가 어떤 수준에서 수행하거나 작품을 제시하는지, 방문 중에 의미 있는 경험을 계획하는 방법을 결정하는데 도움이 됩니다.
방문학자가 되기 위한 기본 자격 조건은 다음과 같습니다.
• 대학 이상의 최종 학위가 있을 것

• 교수진의 후원을 받을 것
방문학자에 지원하는 사람은 Mason과 CVPA의 도움을 받아 이민 서류를 관리할 책임이 있습니다. 다음과 같은 재정 부분을 증명해야 합니다.
• $1,700 per month for J-1 visa holder with no dependents
• $600 additional per month for spouse (J-2 visa holder)
• $400 additional per month for each child (J-2 visa holder)
그리고, 아래와 같은 보험 한도의 보험에 동반자 포함해서 가입해야 합니다.
• Medical benefits of at least $50,000 per accident or illness
• Repatriation of remains in the amount of $7,500
• Exchange Visitor to his or her home country in the amount of $10,000
• A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness.
신청 절차로 International Programs & Critical Studies의 부학장인 Johnsen-Neshati에게 방문학자의 요청 통보가 가고, 다음의 절차를 밟게 됩니다.
• Demonstration of work: video, website, or some other type of digital communication that presents artistic work and demonstrates proficiency in their area of interest.
• Faculty recommendation: If the applicant for the Visiting Scholar position has had previous interactions with one of our faculty members, we request a recommendation from the CVPA faculty member. This letter should describe the potential scholarly exchanges and the level of the applicant's current English communication skills.
• Visiting scholar plan: Each Visiting Scholar needs a complete description of responsibilities, activities, or performances, which defines the benefits to both the Scholar and to CVPA.
• Additional requirements: Individual CVPA programs may have additional Visiting Scholar participation requirements that would be included in the Scholar's plan. After the Scholar arrives, the plan may be adjusted, but a final agreement for each semester must be submitted to Dr. Johnsen-Neshati, before any activity starts.
• Interview: CVPA will request an interview, either through Skype or the phone, to ask questions and to discover interests of study.
• Proof of English proficiency
시각 및 공연예술대학원의 방문학자로서 비디오나 웹사이트, 기타 유형으로 예술 작품을 제공하고, 관심 분야에서 본인의 능력을 보여주는 것이 중요합니다.
신청의 승인을 받으면, 학장의 초청장을 받게 됩니다. 그리고, J-1 비자 발급에 필요한 DS-2019 발급 신청 단계를 밟게 됩니다. 방문학자 신청 과정에서 필요한 서류는 다음과 같습니다.
• Copy of Passport ID page for scholar and all accompanying dependents
• Copy of financial support documentation (e.g., personal bank statement or letter from company, university, or home country stating financial support).
• Résumé/Curriculum Vitae
• Electronic Submission of Work
• Visiting Scholar Plan and/or Research Proposal
• Copy of highest diploma earned
• If already living in the United States, copy of immigration documents and current visa.
• Letter of Recommendation from Mason Faculty Sponsor (to be sent to Dr. Johnsen-Neshati, directly from recommender).
• Proof of English Proficiency
