오하이오 주립대학(Ohio State University)의 간호대학은 활성화된 국제 방문 간호 프로그램 운영을 통해 세계 여러 나라 출신의 간호사를 환영하고 있습니다. 글로벌 방문 학자 과정에 관심이 있는 분이라면, 미국에 도착하고자 하는 일정에서 최소 5개월 이전에 지원을 해야 합니다. 간호대학의 방문 간호사는 방문하는 동안 드는 경비를 모두 본인이 부담해야 합니다. 방문하는 동안 연구를 수행하고 싶다면, 지원하기에 앞서 교수 멘토를 지정하고, 교수의 학과로부터 지원을 얻어야 합니다.
참가 기간은 짧게는 1개월에서 길게는 6개월로 다양합니다. 글로벌 방문학자 프로그램은 다음과 같이 4개의 트랙으로 나눠 운영되고 있습니다.

방문 학자 과정의 트랙별로 어떤 특징이 있는지 간단하게 살펴보겠습니다.
Education and Leadership Immersion Track: 교육 및 리더십 몰입 트랙은 미국에서의 경험을 통해 교육 및 리더십 전문성을 구축하고자 하는 전문 간호사를 위해 고안되었습니다. 핵심 분야로는 OSU 대학의 Wexner 메디컬 센터에서 임상 관찰과, 개인적인 리더십 평가 활동, 간호 대학의 교실 및 시뮬레이션 연구실 관찰, 단계별 교육 및 실습 교육을 제공하는 1주간의 증거 기반의 실습 몰입 등을 포함하고 있습니다.

Education and Leadership Intensive Track: 짧게는 3개월에서 길게는 6개월까지 참여할 수 있는 트랙으로 위의 교육 및 리더십 몰입 트랙과 같은 구성요소를 갖습니다. 미국에서 더 길게 체류하면서 경험도 깊게 할 수 있는데요. 임상 및 교실 관찰 활동은 참가자의 학습 요구에 맞게 맞춤화 됩니다.

Research Immersion Track: Research Immersion은 단기 연구 협력과 멘토링에 관심이 있는 교수진, 과학자 및 교육자를 위해 고안되었습니다. 참가자들은 자신의 관심 분야에서 연구 멘토를 식별하고 한달 동안 해당자와 일대일로 작업합니다.

Research Intensive Track: 3~6개월 참여 가능하며, 멘토를 특정한 교수진, 과학자 및 교육자가 출판, 시범 작업, 분석과 또는 방법론적 접근을 통해 연구 프로그램을 구축하는데 집중할 수 있도록 하는 트랙입니다. 프로그램 비용에는 개입 연구의 설계, 수행, 분석 및 자금 지원의 피수 요소를 다루는 2일의 연구 집중 워크숍이 포함되어 있습니다.

12주이상 머무는 방문학자는 프로그램 비용의 10%를 할인 받을 수 있으며, 할인 비용은 위에 적용되어 있습니다. 추가적인 워크숍에 대한 내용은 다음과 같습니다.
- Health Athlete ($475): An engaging workshop designed for busy professionals who want to refocus and reenergize their personal and professional lives.
- EBP Immersions ($1,900): This program provides a “deep-dive” into evidence-based practice (EBP) where participants will learn the step-by-step EBP process as well as strategies for integrating EBP in clinical and academic organizations of any size or level of complexity.
- Research Intensive Workshop ($895): In this workshop, the essential elements of designing, conducting, analyzing, and funding intervention research will be taught in a user-friendly format.
