University of Cologne은 독일 퀼른에 위치한 대학입니다. 중앙 유럽에서 여섯 번째로 설립된 대학으로 독일에서 가장 오래된 대학이기도 합니다. 1798년에 문을 닫았다가 1919년 문을 다시 여는 우여곡절이 있었지만, 현재 학생수 48,000여명 이상으로 독일에서 가장 큰 대학 중에 하나로 알려져 있습니다.
퀼른에서는 다양한 국제 마스터 프로그램이 제공되는데요. 독일어의 석사과정, 영어로 진행되는 석사과정, 옵션으로 영어 트랙이나 부분적으로 영어로 가르치는 석사 프로그램이 있습니다.

위 과정 중 Business Analytics and Economics의 석사 과정을 대표적으로 자세히 살펴보겠습니다. 120 ECTS의 학점을 4학기 동안 이수하면, Master of Science의 학위를 받게 됩니다. 경제와 비즈니스의 현실적인 문제들을 해결하기 위해 현대의 데이터 분석, 인공지능, 기기 학습의 툴뿐만 아니라 응용 방법을 학습하게 됩니다.

- Groundbreaking knowledge and the mindset for a successful career in data analytics for business and economics
- Vital skills for starting and managing a business in the digital age and resolving complex issues in today’s organisations
- An ability to gather, manage and analyse (big) data as well as to visualise, present and use insights gained from the data
이 과정은 대학에서 경제학, 수학/통계학, 컴퓨터 과학, 물리학, 정보시스템이나 비즈니스 행정을 전공으로 한 학생들에게 이상적이며, 수학, 통계, 디지털 기술에 대한 친화력뿐만 아니라 이러한 영역에서 실제 문제를 해결하기 위해 자신의 기술을 사용할 수 있는 능력을 가지고 있어야 합니다. 그리고, 기업가적 마인드를 가진 사람이면 적합합니다.
전공 관련 학력 조건으로는 독일 학점으로 최소한 2.7이상으로 다음의 과목 이수 조건을 갖춰야 합니다.
1. at least 30 ECTS in the fields of Business Administration and/or Economics
2. at least 24 ECTS in the fields of Statistics and/or Mathematics and/or Information Systems and/or Informatics
or
at least 48 ECTS in the fields of Statistics and/or Mathematics and/or Information Systems and/or Informatics
그리고, 언어능력 조건으로는 B2이상으로 TOEFL은 72점 이상, IELTS 5.5이상이면 되며, 영어권 국가에서 학사 및 석사 학위를 취득한 경우라면, 영어성적 제출이 면제됩니다.
독일 밖에서 학사 학위를 취득한 지원자라면, uni-assist의 예비검토문서인 VPD를 반드시 제출해야 합니다. 아래 내용을 참고해서 독일 이외에서 대학을 나온 분은 VPD서류를 작성하시기 바랍니다.
- Applicants who do not have a German bachelor's degree must additionally submit a preliminary review documentation (VPD) from uni-assist. You can have your documents checked by uni-assist all year round, the VPD is not tied to an application semester.
- Please read the application procedure carefully and follow the country-specific requirements.
- We recommend applying for the VPD as early as possible before the application deadline, as missing or incorrect documents can still be submitted in time. Processing time after receipt of the application and payment is four to six weeks.
- You can only submit your application via KLIPS with a valid VPD document.
- Applying for VPD to uni-assist alone does not count as an application for a degree program at the University of Cologne.
입학신청은 CMES MIN과 Master in Research는 1월 초부터 신청이 가능하지만, 나머지 석사 프로그램은 4월초부터 입학신청이 가능합니다. 2022년 겨울학기 입학을 위한 입학 신청 마감일은 다음과 같습니다.

입학신청은 쾰른대학의 학생들은 모두 KLIPS라는 사이트에서 이루어집니다. 계정이 없는 학생은 KLIPS의 계정을 만들어야 하고, 독일 학사학위가 아닌 경우는 uni-assist라는 사이트에서 VPD를 요청해서 받아서 이것도 함께 제출해야 합니다. 그래서, 제일 좋은 것은 VPD를 먼저 신청하고, 결과를 받은 후에 KLIPS 계정을 만들어 온라인 신청을 하는 것을 권장하고 있습니다.
입학신청 시 최대 세 개의 다른 석사 과정을 동시에 지원할 수 있습니다.
온라인 입학신청서 작성과 함께 지원자는 다음의 서류를 준비해야 합니다.
- School leaving certificate/proof of having passed a university entrance exam
- Degree certificate (if already available), if not, please upload a preliminary degree overview
- Overview of subjects and grades (transcript of records)
- University grading system
- an officially certified translation if the original documents were not issued in German or English Language
- Proof of English Language Proficiency
- VPD
- Applicants from China and Vietnam are required to also submit a current APS certificate.
