반달곰원장이 올해 입학시킨 학생중에서 Duke University 의 MMS: Foundation of Business에 입학한 학생이 있었습니다. 듀크대학교 석사이외에 미시간대학교등 3군데 더 합격을 했었는데 학생은 듀크대학교를 선택하였습니다. 반달곰원장이 듀크대학교의 석사와 MBA 그리고 방문학자 프로그램을 꾸준하게 컨설팅하고 있는데 애정이 많이 가는 것은 사실입니다.
그래서 오늘은 듀크의 Fuqua School of Business에 대해서 알아보겠습니다. 후쿠아비즈니스스쿨에는 2년제 풀타임MBA외에 아래와 같이 다양한 석사학위가 있습니다.

이중에서 Fuqua MBA에 대해서 알아보겠습니다. 아시다시피 듀크대 Fuqua MBA는 미국의 탑10수준의 명문MBA입니다. 그런 만큼 입학지원자는 많고 합격하기는 어렵습니다. GMAT이 높은데도 덜어진 학생이 있었고 GMAT이 적당한데도 붙은 학생이 있었는데 그 만큼GMAT도 중요하지만 Duke에서 요구하는 에세이등에 대해서 정말 잘 작성해야 합니다. 그러면 먼저 2020년도 입학지원일정 부터 살펴보겠습니다.

Duke MBA의 얼리라운드 마감일은 9월 19일입니다. 라운드1의 마감일은 10월 14일, 라운드2의 마감일은 1월 6일, 그리고 마지막 라운드3의 마감일은 3월 11일입니다. 얼리가 있지만 보통 탑스쿨의 마감일과 비슷하므로 입학지원조건을 잘 만들어서 일정에 맞추어서 지원서 제출하시길 바랍니다. 그럼 입학지원조건을 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.

위의 조건을 살피면 역시 듀크대학교 MBA에서는 에세이가 가장 어렵습니다. 질문도 많고 본인에 대해서 25개의 단어로 풀어 서내려가는 것이 상당히 난감합니다. 그래도 반달곰원장의 학생은 본인에 대해서 잘 작성해서 반달곰원장이 특별히 할 일이 없었습니다. 그 결과는 당당하게 합격이었구요. 이렇게 좋은 결과를 만들어 냈지만 Duke MBA 에 지원하는 분들은 매우 신중하게 작성해야 합니다.
Duke Fuqua MBA의 학비는 년간 7만달러로 총 14만달러 수준의 학비입니다. Duke Fuqua MBA 학생에 대해서 알아보면은 학생수는 440명입니다. 평균 나이는 29세이고 평균 직장경력은 5.6년입니다. 학생의 80%의 GPA는 3.1~3.88사이로 상당히 높습니다. 학생 80%의 GMAT성적은 650-750점사이입니다. 여학생비율은 42%이고 국제학생의 비율은 38%입니다.
