1865년에 설립한 명문 사립대학으로 학부생의 등록수가 14,907명으로 전체 학생 수가 23,600명인 제법 큰 규모의 캠퍼스를 가지고 있습니다.

코넬대의 학부 과정에 지원하기 위해서는 학교가 요구하는 모든 기본 조건을 충족했는지 살펴볼 필요가 있습니다. 학부 신입생의 경우 7개의 학부 칼리지와 스쿨 중에서 선택해서 지원할 수 있는데, 각 칼리지와 스쿨마다 요구하는 조건이 다를 수 있으니 반드시 지원하고자 하는 학과의 입학 전형 정보를 잘 찾아봐야 합니다. College of Arts and Sciences의 입학 요구 조건을 대표적으로 살펴보겠습니다.
- 고등학교 과목 및 요구 조건, 추천서가 필요한데요. 16학점으로 영어, 수학, 과학, 외국어에서 다음의 학점을 충족해야 합니다.
4 of English, 3 of mathematics, 3 of science, and 3 of one foreign language
공식 시험으로 SAT나 ACT 성적을 제출해야 하며, 최소한 2과목의 SAT Subject 시험을 봐야 합니다. 국제학생의 경우 여기에 토플이나 아이엘츠 같은 공인영어 점수가 요구됩니다.
아래는 준비를 하는데 권장 사항입니다.

코넬은 Common Application 혹은 Universal College Application (UCA)를 통해 지원할 수 있는데, 두 개중 아무거나 편한 것을 선택해서 서류 작성 후 온라인으로 제출하게 됩니다.
이 지원서 이외에도 코넬은 다음과 같은 서류를 제출해야 합니다.
- The School Report - Your counselor or designated school official should submit this form (or your school’s own report form) and your official transcript on your behalf.
- Counselor Recommendation - Cornell requires a written statement from your guidance counselor or college advisor.
- Teacher Evaluations - You are required to submit two teacher recommendations. Be sure to remind individuals writing letters for you to include your name and date of birth on all pages if they are sending them by mail.
- Midyear Report - Submit the Midyear Report as soon after the application deadline as possible. We strongly encourage guidance counselors to submit this online too, so we can process your application faster. We understand that some students with schools on trimesters may not have any new grade information to report at the time of submission, and therefore do not need to send a Midyear Report.
CA나 UCA 지원서를 통해 코넬은 질문지와 작문을 제출하게 되어 있는데, 자신이 지원하는 스쿨이나 칼리지로 지원자의 지식추구 목표를 잘 연결할 수 있도록 도움을 주는 서류라 할 수 있습니다.
건축 프로그램에 지원하는 학생들은 입학 절차의 하나로 인터뷰를 봐야 합니다. 미술 전공의 경우는 격려 차원이지만, 인터뷰를 반드시 봐야 하는 것은 아닙니다.
토플 성적의 경우 100점 이상, IELTS로는 7점 이상을 권장하고 있고 구 SAPT 시험에서 Critical Reading 섹션에서 최소 670점 이상의 점수 혹은 신SAT 리딩에서 35점 이상, 혹은 최근 미국이나 영어 사용 국가에서 4년 이상 고등학교 혹은 대학이나 칼리지에서 공부한 경우라면, 공인 영어 성적 제출이 면제됩니다.
