종종 C.W. Post라고 일컬어지는 대학은 Long Island University Post로 롱아일랜드 대학의 C.W. Post 캠퍼스가 공식적인 이름입니다. 뉴욕의 브룩빌에 있는 사립 대학으로 사립의 롱아일랜드 대학 시스템에서 가장 큰 캠퍼스를 가지고 있습니다. 캠퍼스는 우리가 너무도 잘 알고 있는 아침 식사 대용인 포스트 씨리얼의 창시자인 Charles William Post의 이름을 따서 만들어졌으며, 힐우드라고 알려진 롱이일랜드의 부동산인 사유지를 1951년에 LIU에 팔았던 Marjorie Merriweather Post의 아버지이기도 합니다. 이 일이 있고, 3년 후에 LIU는 포스트의 아버지의 이름을 기리고자 C.W. Post College라는 이름을 사용했다고 합니다.
322에이커 규모의 캠퍼스에 설립된 LIU Post는 Brookville의 뉴욕시에서 동쪽으로 25마일 정도 떨어져 있습니다. 캠퍼스는 롱아일랜드의 노스쇼에 가깝습니다. 위대한 개츠비의 배경으로 유명한 장소라는 것도 인상적인데요. 음악, 연극, 무용 등 세계적으로 유명한 예술가들이 70회 이상의 공연을 개최하는 공연 예술 센터를 보유하고 있는데, 이것이 Tilles Center로 풍부한 뮤지컬 및 연극 행사를 주최하며, 대학 24개 대표팀은 ‘넘버원 in the East’라는 칭호를 받았습니다.
학생들이 지역 쇼핑몰뿐만 아니라 인근 기차역, 맨해튼까지 가는 무료 셔틀 버스를 이용할 수 있어 편리성이 있습니다.
700명의 국제학생들의 고향으로 전체 학생수가 8,500명으로 약 9%의 비율을 차지하고 있습니다.
