오늘은 미국의 탑랭킹 대학교인 University of Virginia Darden Business School에 대해서 말씀드리겠습니다. 2019학년도 입학지원일정이 오픈되고 온라인 입학지원서가 오픈되었기에 미국의 탑랭킹 MBA를 원하는 분들에게 Darden MBA의 입학지원관련하여 안내를 해드리겠습니다. 먼저 제일 중요한 2019학년도 입학을 위한 지원일정을 아래와 같이 안내해드리겠습니다.

정규입학지원라운드 전에 얼리라운드가 있는데 입학지원마감일은 하버드MBA지원 마감일 다음 다음날입니다. 그리고 1라운드 마감일은 10월 4일이고 2라운드 마감은 1월 10일입니다. 그리고 마지막 3라운드 마감일은 4월 3일입니다. 보통 탑랭킹 비즈니스스쿨의 지원라운드와 비슷합니다. 그럼 입학지원조건을 알아보도록 하겠습니다.
GMAT OR GRE SCORE: Darden will also accept a GRE score in place of the GMAT.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEST SCORE: No minimum score requirement. Average IBT score 106
RÉSUMÉ: The résumé should not be more than one page long.
ESSAY
RECOMMENDATIONS: We require two recommendations that address the questions asked on our recommendation form.
INTERVIEWS: Interviews play a critical role in our assessment of candidates and are required prior to acceptance into the program. An invitation to interview is a positive indicator no matter when you receive it.
TRANSCRIPTS: We do not require official transcripts in order to process your application and get it to the committee for review.

위의 입학조건을 살펴보면 다른 대학교MBA와 비슷합니다. 이중에서 가중 중요한 GMAT/GRE를 준비하고 영어 토플이나 IELTS를 준비하면 됩니다. 여기서 가장 중요한 것은 토플점수의 하한 점수조건은 없습니다. 즉, 영어점수는 상관없이 지원할 수가 있습니다. 어학점수는 좋지 않지만 인터뷰 실력이 뛰어나면 영어점수로 고생안해도 됩니다.
그리고 가장 중요한 에세이 질문은 아래와 같습니다. 조금은 다양한 질문들을 간단, 간단하게 기술하면 됩니다. 질문들을 살펴보면 아래와 같습니다.
ESSAY QUESTION
For the 2018–19 application cycle, the Darden has decided to forgo one long essay, and do multiple short essays. We want to get to know all of the various facets of your background and personality.
"Tell us what you would want your learning team to know about you - personal, professional or both." (100 words)
"Each year, Darden connects with over 80 countries. If you could choose any location in the world, where would you want to go with Darden? And why?" (50 words)
"Darden strives to identify and cultivate leaders who follow their purpose. At this stage, how would you describe your evolving leadership style and please provide an example." (200 words)
"Please provide an example of a situation in which you have made a meaningful impact." (200 words)
"What is your short-term, post-MBA career goal and why?" (150 words)
