안녕하세요, 반달곰원장입니다.
반달곰원장이 작년 11월에 방문하고 매우 좋은 프로그램이라고 생각했던 체코 프라하의 의대입학 파운데이션 프로그램을 이제서야 안내를 해드립니다. 요즘 반달곰원장에게 카리브해의 SGU 국제의대와 헝가리의 의대, 폴란드 의대, 그리고 우크라이나의 의입학등을 문의하시는데 솔직히 카리브해에 있는 국제의대에 대해서 의문을 가지시는 분들이 많으신 것 같아서 반달곰원장이 직접 방문하고 두눈으로 확인 했을뿐만 아니라 체코의대 교수님의 손수해주신 캠퍼스 투어를 통해 체코의대, Charles University Medical School의 우수성에 대해서 직접 들을 수가 있었습니다. 이것을 우리나라 학생들에게 빨리 전달해 드렸어야 했는데 그러지 못해서 미안합니다.
이곳이 바로 의대파운데이션과정이 진행되는 프라하 Krystal Centre입니다. 그 건물 앞에서 반달곰원장이 사진을 찍고 있습니다.

프로그램에서 알 수 있듯이 이 파운데이션 프로그램은 체코내의 의대, 치과대 또는 의학관련 학과에 진학하고자 하는 학생들에게 대학입학을 준비시켜주는 프로그램입니다. 이 의대파운데이션 프로그램은 학생들에게 고등교육과 clinical sciences를 위한 프랫폼을 배우도록 도움을 주는 과정입니다. 이 파운데이션 코스는 대학교 학부과정의 0학년이라고 간주될 정도로 통합된 프로그램입니다. 이 파운데이션 프로그램은 모든 국제학생들과 EU학생들에게 오픈되어 있습니다.
의대파운데이션과정을 거치고 찰스대학교 의과대학에 다니고 있는 Lasika.라시카는 영국인이다.
Charles University Pragus Crystal Centre에서 제공되는 이 파운데이션코스는 Charles University와 반달곰원장의 파트너학교인 영국의 Abbey College가 협력해서 만든 과정입니다. Abbey College는 영국에 있는 명문학교로서 25년이상동안 패쓰웨이프로그램을 제공해온 매우 전문성이 뛰어난 학교입니다.
Abbey College의 Isobel은 반달곰원장에게 프라하의 의대파운데이션과정과 찰스대학교 캠퍼스 투어를 해주기 위해서 영국에서 일부러 출장을 왔다. 정말 고마울뿐이다.
이 프로그램은 체코의 찰수대학교와 영국의 Abbey College의 선생님들이 공동으로 제공하는 균형잡힌 세미나, 강의, 교실수업을 통해서 의과대학 1학년과정을 매우 훌륭하게 준비하게 도와줍니다. 이 두학교의 긴밀한 협조는 학생들에게 학생들이 선택한 의과과정에 필요한 지식과 기술을 취득할 수 있게 해줍니다. 이 파운데이션은 아래와 같은 상황에 적합하다고 말씀드릴 수가 있습니다.
The Foundation course is suitable for:
Students who don’t meet the criteria for direct entry into the 1st year of a medical degree.
Students with lower A Level grades than expected.
Students who are unable to study to a sufficient level in their own country for direct entry to a
medical degree programme.
Students who have previously failed medical entrance exams and not met university
requirements.
Students who are changing between academic fields.
Mature learners returning to education.
The duration of the course is two semesters, from September until June. We also offer a one
semester course from January to June for able applicants.
이 파운데이션 과정은 첫째, 의과대학으로 바로 입학할 수 있는 자격을 만족하지 못한 학생들에게 맞습니다. 그리고 A레벨 성적이 기대했던 것보다 낮은 학생들에게 좋습니다. 다른 나라에서 의과대학에 다이렉트 입학을 할 수 있을 정도의 성적이 만들지 못한 학생, 전에 의과대학 입학에 실패했거나 의대 입학기준을 만족시키지 못한 학생들은 이과정을 하면 좋습니다. 그리고 무슨 전공을 할지 고민하다가 전공을 바꾼학생, 의고대학교에 가고 싶은 나이든 학생들에게 이 파운데이션 과정은 정말 좋습니다.

이 파운데이션과정은 2학기 과정인데 9월시작해서 6월에 끝납니다. 보통 이런 기간에 공부하지만 실력이 좋고 뒤어난 학생은 1학기 공부만으로 의대 파운데이션과정을 수료할 수 있게 해줍니다. 이런 과정의 학비를 알아보도록 하겠습니다.
Foundation Course – Medicine and Dentistry
Fees September to June (2 semesters): 18,000 Euros
January to June (1 semester): 14,500 Euros
체코 프라하의 의과대, 치과대 파운데이션과정의 학비는 2학의 경우 18000유로이고, 한 학기 학비는 14500유로입니다. 다른 나라의 의대과정보다도 저렴한 수준입니다. 이 비용은 학ㅂ만 포함된 것일까요? 놀라운 것은 이 비용은 학비와 숙소비 그리고 아래와 같은 부가적인 서비스 비용이 포함된 것 입니다.
What is included:
Tuition
A minimum of 30 academic hours per week of teaching, with core modules in Chemistry, Biology,
Physics and Mathematics (1 academic hour = 45 minutes)
Additional lessons in Czech Language, Latin (September Students only) and Study Skills, relevant
to your subsequent degree course (these are not assessed as part of the university entrance exams)
