안녕하세요, 반달곰원장입니다.
반달곰원장이 시카고에서 University of Illinois at Chicago 를 다닐때 생전 처음 DePaul University와 Loyola University에 대해서 들어보게 됩니다. 그러면서 반달곰원장의 짧은 소견으로 시카고에서는 남부에 위치한 시카고대학교, 그리고 시카고시가 아닌 에반스톤에 위치한 노스웨스톤대학교만이 명문이고 좋은 대학교라고 생각하였기에 그 두 사립대학교를 전혀 신경쓰지를 않았습니다. 그런데 시카고에 살면서, 시카고에 대해서 점점 알게되면서, 구 대학교에 대해서 많이 듣게 되면서 그 대학교가 얼마나 좋은 학교인지를 알게 되었습니다.
우리나라에도 서울대, 연고대만이 있는 것이 아니고 각 지역에 실력있는 명문대학교들이 있듯이 시카고에는 그렇게 실력있는 DePaul University와 Loyola University가 있었던 것입니다. 다행히도 DePaul University는 재작년에 ICEF Miami에서 만나서 미팅을 가졌었고 작년 5월에는 직접 DePaul University 다운타운 캠퍼스를 방문하여 미팅을 가졌었습니다. 이번 ICEF Vancouver Workshop에서는 드디어 Loyola University 의 담당자를 만나서 미팅을 가졌습니다.
역시 로욜라대학교 담당자의 자신의 학교에 대한 자부심은 대단하더군요. 이런 시카고베이스의 명문 사립대학교를 만나게 된 것을 기쁘게 생각하고 2010년 학생시절 그냥 멀게만 느꼈던 대학교가 반달곰원장의 파트너로 다가오니 감개가 무량하더군요. 그래서 오늘은 Loyola University Chicago 의 MBA프로그램에 대해서 알아보려고 합니다. 위의 입학조건중에서 가장 중요한 것은 영어점수입니다. 영어조건은 IBT 90, IELTS 6.5입니다. 그렇게 높은 편은 아닙니다. 그리고 GMAT과 GRE가 중요한데 아래의 일정한 요건을 만족시키면 GMAT/GRE제출을 면제받을 수가 있습니다. 그럼 그 요건을 확인해 보도록 하겠습니다.
GMAT/GRE Waiver Policy
If you hold a terminal degree (e.g., PhD, MD, JD, PharmD, etc.), you do not need to submit GMAT/GRE scores. Please submit your transcript with the admission application.
GMAT/GRE waiver requests will be considered for the following:
Applicants who hold a graduate degree and/or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, CMA, CIA, or CFP) with evidence of significant quantitative course work and a minimum of 3.2 cumulative GPA.
Applicants who hold a BBA, BSBA, or BA in economics from an AACSB-accredited school, with a minimum of 3.2 cumulative GPA.
For MBA applicants, a minimum of 7 years of full-time, progressive, and professional work experience that entails a significant scope of responsibility and employs in-depth quantitative and analytic skills.
For Master of Science applicants, a minimum of 5 years of full-time, progressive, and professional work experience in a relevant field that requires in-depth quantitative and analytic skills.
All requests should be submitted to gradapp@LUC.edu with your resume, transcripts, and a brief cover letter that summarizes the reasons for the waiver request.
A petitions for GMAT/GRE waiver is not guaranteed. Program directors make the final decision on admission to graduate programs.
전문자격증이 있으면 면제가 되지만 직장경력이 7년이상이고 매니저 경력이 있으면 면제 받을 수가 있습니다. 물론 면제 신청을 한다고 다 면제가 되는 것은 아니지만 면제받을 가능성이 높으므로 도전해볼만 합니다. 로욜아 Quinlan MBA는 말씀드렸듯이 쿼터별로 새롭게 학기가 시작됩니다. 그러므로 매 쿼터별로 신입생을 선발합니다. 신입생을 위한 입학지원일정은 아래와 같습니다.

위의 일정을 참고하셔서 지원을 하시면 됩니다. 그런 가장 중요한 학비를 마지막으로 안내하고 정리를 하도록 하겠습니다. MBA의 학비는 코스당 4488달러입니다. 보통 13-18개까지 들을 수 있으므로 학비가 다 다릅니다. prerequisite의 여부, concentration여부에 따라서 다른데 학비는 58344달러에서8만달러까지 다양할 수가 있습니다. 참고로 로욜라대학교에서 concentration으로 공부할 수 있는 세부전공은 아래와 같습니다.
