오늘은 프랑스 파리와 싱가폴에 캠퍼스를 두고 있는 1년MBA인 ESSEC Business School의GMBA에 대하여 말씀드리겠습니다. 프랑스에 있는 MBA이지만 프랑스 학생들보다도 외국학생의 비율이 90%나 이르도록 외국학생들이 많습니다. 이 MBA는 프랑스의 다른 MBA와는 다르게 9월 입학만 있습니다. 1월 입학은 없습니다. 그래서 2017년 9월에 입학하기 위해서는 마지막 라운드 지원만이 남았습니다. 일정을 살펴보면 바로 아래와 같습니다.

5월 15일이면 지금부터 한달 보름정도의 시간이 남아있기에 충분히 입학지원을 준비할 수가 있습니다. ESSEC MBA에서 안내하는 입학지원 application process 7단계를 설명드리면 아래와 같습니다.
Step 1: Prepare the tests
As part of the application file, you will need to provide:
- A management aptitude test: GMAT / GRE (validity 5 years)
- An English proficiency test: TOEIC (minimum score of 800) or IELTS (minimum score of 7) or TOEFL (minimum score 100) (validity 2 year)
Step 2 : Start your online application
· The application form is to be filled in online.
· Create your account and then you will receive an email with your login and pin number. These are required each time you sign in so don’t lose them! You can fill in the application form at your convenience, pause it and come back to it at any point.
Step 3: Upload supporting documents
- One common essay for all 6 majors, and one to three specific questions corresponding to your major. To download the essay questions for all majors, please click here.
- A professional résumé (1-2 pages maximum)
- A copy of your passport or ID card
- Official transcripts of grades from all prior academic establishments, plus a copy of all relevant degrees
- A copy of your baccalauréat if you are a French candidate
- Original GMAT or GRE score
- Original TOEFL or IELTS or TOEIC score
- An ID photo (medium to high-resolution digital image)
- Three professional references done online
All documents must be provided in English or French. Official translations will also have to be provided for documents in other languages.
Step 4: Submit & send your application
Once you have completed your online application and have attached all the supporting documents, the final step is to submit your online application before the admission deadline (see this table). The upcoming admission rounds are listed in the table at the top of this page.
Earlier applicants will receive first consideration for scholarships.
Please note that you will have to pay a non-refundable application fee of 130€.
Step 5: Find out if you have been shortlisted
Your application will be fully studied by the Admissions Panel. Each part of your application is taken into account. If your application is successful, you will be contacted by ESSEC within two weeks.
tep 6: Sit your interview
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to organize an interview for about 40 minutes with a jury, consisting of faculty members and sometimes professionals/recruiters from the industry, either in person or over video-conference.
The aim of the interview is for you to be able to demonstrate your motivation for doing an MBA, for choosing ESSEC Business School and what you hope to achieve after your degree.
Step 7: Get your results
The Admissions Panel will then deliberate on your overall application and decisions will be submitted. You will be notified within two weeks if you have been offered a place in the ESSEC Global MBA program along with supporting documentation for students who have to obtain visas.
Please note that all decisions by the Admissions Panel are final and cannot be appealed. Decision letters are generally sent promptly after the interview, and your response is required in a timely fashion. Please be aware that the Early Bird scholarship is only valid within three weeks from the date of your decision letter.
지난번에도 말씀드렸지만 입학지원시 필요한 것은 영어점수와 GMAT, GRE점수입니다. English Proficiency 는 IBT 100점, IELTS 7.0을 요구합니다. 이 점수를 만드는 것은 매우 힘듭니다. 그런데 행복한 소식은 TOEIC 800점도 같이 요구한다는 것입니다. 우리나라 직장인들에게 TOEIC 800점은 만들기가 어렵지 않습니다. 그러므로 이 부분을 만들어서 지원하면 합격의 가능성이 높습니다.
한국에서는 MBA박람회 회사로부터 인기가 점점 떨어져서 ACCESS MBA박람회가 서울을 건너띄고 4월 6일 싱가폴, 4월 8일 자카르타에서 열립니다. 바로 ESSEC MBA가 이 행사를 참석하기에 이 학교에 대해서 많은 것을 듣고 볼 수가 있습니다. 한국에 계신 분들에게는 아쉽지만 싱가폴과 말레이시아 자카르타에 계신 분들은 참석하여 좋은 정보를 받으시길 바라겠습니다.
