오늘은 작년가을 반달곰원장이 방문하였던 독일 뮌헨의 새로운 비즈니스스쿨인 New European College의 좋은 소식이 있어서 안내를 해드리고자 합니다. 독일 뮌헨에는 좋은 비즈니스 스쿨들이 많습니다. 반달곰원장이 학생들의 입학을 도와드린 European University Business School도 뮌헨캠퍼스를 두고 있습니다. EU Business School MBA 졸업생이 이번에 독일 푸랑크푸르트에 있는 좋은 기업에 취업되어서 반달곰원장이 큰 보람을 느끼기도 하였습니다.
오늘은 EU MBA는 아니고 바로 옆에 있는 New European College의 소식입니다. 이번 가을학기에 입학하는 학생들에게 첫 두학기, 즉 1년의 학비중에서 10%를 장학금으로 제공한다는 것입니다. 이번 6월 11일에 첫 졸업생을 배출하는 New European College에서 첫번째 졸업생 베출을 축하하고 가을학기 입학하는 학생들에게 조금이나마 혜택을 주기 위해서 마련한 기획입니다.
위의 사진처럼 Scholarship Voucher 를 공식적으로 제공하고 있는데 이 혜택을 받을 수 있는 전공들과 과목들은 아래와 같습니다.

New European College의 학비가 비싼 편이 아닙니다. 1년과정 파운데이션과정도 11800유로인데 이중에 10% 장학금 혜택이라고 하면 1180유로, 한화로 따지면 160만원 정도 됩니다. 워낙 학비 부담이 없는지라 장학금이 작음에도 불구하고 크게 느껴집니다.
지금 2016년 10월 입학과 2017년 2월 입학 신입생의 지원을 받고 있습니다. 각 과정 지원하기 위해서는 아래와 같은 admission requirements들이 필요합니다.
Requirements for Foundation Program
1. Completed Secondary School
- High School Degree
- Transcripts
2. English Language Certificate (Choose one)
- TOEFL with min. 64
- IELTS with min. 5.0
3. Successful Assessment Examination
4. Successful Assessment Interview
Requirements for Bachelor Program
1. Completed Secondary School Degree
- Completion of Secondary Education (Abitur, Matura, BAC, or equal) qualifying for University entrance in the country issued.
Or
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
- 24 points
- 2 language courses (at least one must be an advanced foreign language; “Language A”)
- A scientific subject (biology, chemistry, physics) – must be “Higher level”
- Mathematics SL/HL
- A social scientific subject (history, geography, economics)
- 6th compulsory subject must be one of the following (visual arts, music, theatre arts, a further modern foreign language; Latin, classical Greek; general chemistry, applied, chemistry, environmental systems, computer science, design technology; philosophy, psychology, social anthropology, Business Management)
- The subjects demanded need to be graded with the IB-grade 4 at the minimum
- If only one subject is graded with the IB-grade 3, it can be equated, if a further subject of at least the same aspiration level is graded with the IB-grade 5
Or
- U.S. High School Degree min. 3.0 GPA
- SAT 1300 points
- ACT 29 points
- AP (must have taken calculus, language and a subject that exists in German high school)
Or
- GCE
- 1 language course A/AS level
- Mathematics A-level
- 1 Natural Science course
- 1 elective course as desired
- 3 out of 4 courses must be A-level. The remaining course can be AS-level

Requirements for Accelerated MBA
Bachelor degree from a state-recognized university with
- min. 210 ECTS credits or equivalent (and)
- min. 3.0 German grading system (equivalent to 2.0 GPA out of 4.0 U.S.)
Business related work experience of at least 2 years after Bachelor graduation
English Language Certificate (Choose one)
- TOEFL with min. 80
- IELTS with min. 6.0
- CAE – Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English with a “B overall grade”
- CPE – Certificate of Proficiency in English with a “C overall grade”
GMAT (only if your grade is less than 3.0 German grading system / 2.0 out of 4.0 GPA U.S.)

Successful Assessment Interview
이렇게 foundation과 BA과정, 그리고 MBA과정 입학조건들이 다릅니다. 그중에서 가장 중요한 것은 영어조건이 될 것입니다. 독일 뮌헨에서 수업을 듣지만 모든 수업이 영어로 이루이지기에 독일어 능력을 평가하지는 않습니다. 영어 IBT 80점 IELTS 6.0이상일 경우 MBA에 합격할 수가 있습니다. 그리고 다행스러운 것은 GMAT이 면제 입니다. 그러므로 GMAT에 부담을 느끼면서 유럽, 특히 독일에 취업후 이민을 생각하는 분들은 MBA과정들을 잘 이용하시길 바랍니다.
