오늘은 뉴욕주에 있는 University of Rochester의 Simon Business School의 Full Time MBA의 입학지원일정과 입학조건 그리고 Application fee waiver 소식을 전달해드리겠습니다. 먼저 application fee면제에 대해서 안내를 해드리겠는데 Simon MBA같은 명문 MBA에서 지원서비를 안받는 것은 좀 특이합니다. 아무튼 큰 돈은 아니지만 지원서비를 안받는다고 하니 관심있는 분들은 기간과 조건을 잘 보고 지원하시길 바라겠습니다. 그럼 반달곰원장에게 안내가 온 지원서비 면제 이벤트에 관한 내용을 자세히 알려드리겠습니다.
Our Round 4 - March 15 application deadline is approaching! Don’t wait: Apply early to be considered for maximum scholarship support and to have the Admissions Committee start your application review before the deadline.
We want to simplify the application process for you, so we will waive your $150 application fee if you submit your application by 11:59 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 10. Once you are ready to submit your application, check the fee waiver box within the payment screen and your waiver will be activated.
As you work to complete your application, consider the following:

즉, 4라운드 데드라인이 3월 15일인데 3월 10일까지 지원서를 내서 Admission committee가 데드라인전에 지원서 심사를 하게 해주면 application fee를 면제해주겠다는 것입니다. 그러므로 어차피 Simon MBA 를 생각하신 분들은 마감일 까지 기다리지 마시고 3월 10일까지 지원서제출을 마무리하여 주십시오. 그런데 지원서비를 면제해준다고 Simon MBA를 무시하거나 해서는 안됩니다. 위에서 보시듯이 Simon MBA는 96%가 졸업후 3개월이내에 취업을 하고 비즈니스위크지에서는 ROI부분 랭킹 3위에 선정되어었습니다. 그리고 학생의 70%이상은 작던 크던 장학금을 받습니다.
그런데 재밌는 것은 이렇게 3월 10일까지 제출하지 않아도 application fee면제 받을 수 있는 방법이 또 있습니다. 그 방법을 안내해드리면 아래와 같습니다.
Application Fee Waiver
Upon approval by the Admissions Committee, a Full-Time MBA applicant may be eligible for an application fee waiver if they meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Official service (United States only) to community or country (e.g. Teach for America, Peace Corps, US Military)
- University of Rochester alumni
- Partner School alumni
- Academic/Professional excellence (at least two out of the following):
- 670 GMAT (submit Official Test-Taker Score Report) or 324 GRE (submit Official Examinee Score Report)
- 3.3 cumulative GPA (submit copy of your undergraduate transcript)
- Note: To be considered for an application fee waiver using your cumulative GPA, you must have a GPA that is on a 4.0 scale. We do not accept self-translated GPA’s from candidates, however should candidates have their GPA’s officially accessed and translated by a credential evaluation service to a 4.0 scale, we can then accept a GPA official translation.
- minimum of 4 years full-time professional experience
- Candidates applying for the joint MD/MBA degree at University of Rochester
- Attendance at an on-campus or off-campus Simon event (no written request necessary)
