오늘은 미국 플로리다 마이애미의 명문대학교인 Florida International University Healthcare MBA과정에 대해서 소개해드리겠습니다. 지난번에는 FIU MBA중에서 비자지원이 가능한 Professional MBA Weekend와 Professional MBA Downtown을 소개해 드렸었습니다. 어찌보면 그 MBA들과 시스템이 비슷한 것이 바로 Healthcare MBA입니다.
FIU Healthcare MBA는 18개월동안 공부를 하는데 토요일에만 수업을 듣습니다. 모두 42학점을 18개월동안 이수해야 하는데 가을학기 시작할 땐 다운타운캠퍼스에서 공부를 하고 봄학기에 공부를 하면 FIU Broward location에서 공부를 합니다. 얼마전인 1월 9일에 새학기가 시작되었습니다.
42학점을 모두 이수하여야 졸업을 할수가 있는데 매주 토요일마다 공부하는 것이기에 시간적으로는 매우 여유가 있습니다. 그리고 보통 18개월, 그리고 토요일에만 수업이 있으면 비자지원을 안해주는 거 아니냐는 걱정을 많이 하시는데 다행히도 비자지원을 해줍니다. FIU는 파이낸셜타임지에서 선정한 International MBA부문 세계랭킹 15위를 차지한 명문 MBA입니다. 그리고 캠퍼스는 미국내에서 손에 꼽힐 정도로 엄청난 규모를 자랑하고 있습니다. 이렇게 명문MBA에서 수업을 나름 여유있는 스케쥴로 공부하면서 전문분야인 Healthcare MBA를 할 수 있다는 것은 복입니다.
MBA를 경영학과 출신들이 공부하는 것으로 알고 계신분들이 있는데 실제로 MBA는 경여학과보다는 이공계출신들이 사회생활을 몇년 경험하고 공부하면 좋습니다. 특히 FIU Healthcare MBA는 의사선생님이나 간호사선생님, 그리고 기타 의료계에 종사하시는 분들이 공부하시면 좋습니다. 의사선생님들의 경우 매우 바쁜 생활을 보내다가 미국까지와서 MBA하느라 정신없이 살면 힘드니까 이렇게 조금은 여유있는 스케쥴의 좋은 MBA를 하는 것이 너무 좋을 것입니다.
그럼 FIU Healthcare MBA의 입학조건을 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.
To be eligible for admission to the Healthcare MBA program, prospective students must:
- Possess a minimum of four (4) years professional full-time work experience (post undergraduate graduation).
- Hold a 4-year Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. In the case of foreign students, a Bachelor’s degree from a well-established institution of higher learning that is authorized to grant degrees by appropriate authorities in that country, is required.
- Minimum GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.0 on the last 60 upper-division credits.
- Although the GMAT or GRE is not required for this program, you may be asked to take it to strengthen your admission package.
- Be in good standing with all previously attended colleges and universities.
- TOEFL or IELTS exam is required if a graduate is from a non-English speaking country. Achieve a minimum of 550 on the paper-based TOEFL, 213 on the computer-based TOEFL, 80 on the Internet-based TOEFL, or 6.5 on the IELTS exam.
- Provide two letters of recommendation from professional contacts on your motivation for attending the program.
- Provide a personal statement on your motivation for attending the program, including personal and career goals.
제일 중요한 조건이 직장경력이 4년이상이어야 한다는 것입니다. 그래야 GMAT면제를 받을 수가 있습니다. 그리고 GPA가 3.0이상이어야 하고 가장 중요한 영어조건은 나름 여렵지 않아서 IBT 80, PBT 550, CBT 213점이상이면 가능합니다. IELTS는 6.5이상이어야 합니다.
