[미국Marketing석사] 일리노이 시카고 UIC의 1년제 마케팅석사 Master of Science in Marketing 지원일정 및 입학조건 안내

오늘은 반달곰원장이 University of Illinois at Chicago의 MBA과정이 아닌 1년제 석사과정인 Master of Science in Marketing 에 대해서 안내를 해드리겠습니다. 경력이 2-3년이상 있는 분들의 경우 MBA과정이 더 맞을 수 있으나 경력이 없거나 대학교 졸업후 아카데믹하게 공부를 하고자 하는 학생들의 경우 Master of Science in Marketing과정이 더 좋을 수가 있습니다. 같은 또래의 젊은 학생들과 마케팅관련하여 말랑말랑한 의견들을 나누다보면 어느새 훌쩍 마케팅전문가가 된 자신을 발견하게 될 것입니다.

UIC MS in Marketing과정은 가을 학기 입학과 봄학기 입학 두번의 입학기회가 있습니다. 가을 학기 입학을 위한 국제학생의 지원마감은 2월 15일입니다. 그리고 봄학기 마감은 7월 15일 입니다. 그러므로 오늘이 5월 30일이므로 내년 봄학기 개강을 위하여 지원서를 제출할 수 있는 시기입니다. 지원서 준비를 잘 하시어 데드라인을 넘기지 않도록 하시길 바랍니다.

UIC MS in Marketing은 총 34학점을 이수해야 하는 프로그램이므로 1년안에 졸업이 가능합니다. 아직 비즈니스지식이 없는 분들중에 business knowledge를 얻고자 하는 분이나 커리어 전환을 원하는 분들의 경우 이 과정에서 실질적인 지식을 얻을 수가 있을 것입니다. 마케팅 코어코스를 설명해드리면 아래와 같습니다.

비즈니스 전공분들도 마케팅을 공부할 수 있으나 언론 홍보관련 전공자들이나 관심있는 분들도 마케팅석사과정은 도움이 많이 됩니다. 이런 석사과정을 12개월 1년에 마칠려면 prerepuitite을 공부하여야 합니다. 비즈니스전공이라서 이미 공부하신 분들은 정상적으로 9월에 입학하고 1년만에 졸업하면 되고, 만약에 비즈니스전공이 아니신 분들은 여름에 미리 입학하여 prerequisite을 공부하고 석사과정에 들어가면 됩니다. 

마케팅석사과정에 지원하기 위해서는 다음과 같은 application requirements 을 만족시켜야 합니다.

Test Scores: GMAT or GRE scores are accepted. GMAT and GRE scores are valid for up to 5 years. Please contact the testing companies for full details.

Academic Record: A business-related undergraduate degree is not required to be admitted to our masters programs. Applicants should have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.0.

Letters of Recommendation: We require two letters of recommendation from references who know you in a professional manner and can attest to your professional abilities. Specialized master’s degree programs also accept letters from previous professors who can speak to your academic abilities. You will submit the recommenders’ names and contact information and we will contact them for the recommendation.

Personal Statement: The personal statement provides you with the opportunity to discuss your career goals and why you think the UIC Liautaud program is a good fit. Guidelines are provided in the online application.

MA in Marketing을 지원하는데 가장 큰 장애가 될 부분은 아마도 GMAT또는 GRE성적 제출일 것 같습니다. 평소에 열심히 공부를 하면서 준비를 해야하겠습니다. 7월 15일까지 지원서를 제출하고자 하는 분들도 GMAT준비를 서둘러야 합니다. 그러나 혹시라도 GMAT준비가 어렵거나 잘 안되시는 분들은 반달곰원장이 HULT의 Master of International Marketing을 추천해드릴 수가 있습니다.
