오늘은 셰계적인 탑 비즈니스 스쿨인 영국의 London Business School LBS MBA관련하여 2016학년도 입학지원 일정과 입학지원서류와 기타 정보등을 안내하여 드리겠습니다. 영국의 MBA들이 보통 12개월 1년MBA인 경우가 많은데 LBS MBA는 21개월 MBA입니다. 2년MBA라고 보아도 무방합니다. 물론 인턴쉽등에 따라서 15개월 18개월만에 졸업할 수도 있지만 보통은 21개월 졸업을 합니다. 2016년 8월 시작하면 2018년 5월에 MBA학위를 받을 수가 있습니다.
세계 비즈니스 스쿨중에 AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS 3대인증기관의 인증을 받은 비즈니스스쿨이 몇개 없는데 LBS도 그중의 하나입니다. 대표적인 랭킹을 LBS 사이트를 통하여 안내해드리면 아래와 같습니다.
너무나 화려한 랭킹이라서 구구절절 설명할 필요가 없을 것 같습니다. 몇개를 짚어 보면 Financial Times지 선정 유럽 최고의 MBA로 랭크되었다는 것과 꾸준하게 탑 5안에 랭크되어 왔었다는 것이 제일 중요한 팩트일 것 같습니다. LBS MBA의 2016년도 입학지원일정을 살펴보면 아래와 같습니다.

2016년도 8월에 시작하는 LBS MBA 지원 2라운드 마감이 바로 내일 모레인 1월 5일입니다. 그리고 3라운드지원마감은 2월 25일, 파이날라운드 마감은 4월 21일 입니다. 이제는 서둘러서 GMAT과 영어점수를 만들어야 할 때입니다. 그럼 LBS MBA를 지원하기 위한 구체적인 지원서류와 에세이 질문정보를 아래와 같이 설명드리겠습니다.
- A completed online application form (which can be saved and completed over time) with:
- Your application essays – questions for the class of MBA 2018 are: -What are your post-MBA plans and how will your past experience and the London Business School programme contribute? (500 words)
- What specific areas of London Business School life are you most excited about getting involved in and where will you add value? (300 words)
- Is there any other information you believe the Admissions Committee should know about you and your application to London Business School? (this question is optional) (300 words)
- A one-page CV/resume, giving reasons for significant gaps in employment history on a separate sheet.
- Names and details of two referees; download further information on references for applicants and referees (PDF document, 29.90kb)
- Your official test taker copy of your Graduate Management Admissions Test GMAT score (Register to take the GMAT, or Try the GMAT test).
You also need to send us:
- Proof of your English Language ability
- Your £190 application fee. This fee is paid by credit card with your form, your application will remain incomplete until we receive the correct fee.
- A transcript of grades from each university you have attended (if you are made an offer). Transcripts also require a translation into English.
명문MBA들이 GMAT점수에 하한 점수가 없듯이 LBS MBA도 GMAT은 후보자를 평가하는 잣대중의 하나임을 말하고 있습니다. 평균보다낮은 GMAT을 가지고 있다고 해서 탈락하거나 그러지는 않습니다. 올해 LBS MBA입학자들의 GMAT평균 점수는 701점입니다. 그리고 영어점수는 IBT와 IELTS를 모두 받는데 몇점이상이라고 말은 하지 않습니다. 입학지원과정을 통해서 후보자들의 영어실력을 지속적으로 테스트합니다. 그러니 영어점수가 높다고 해서 안전한 것도 영어점수가 낮다고 불리한 것도 아닙니다. 얼마나 커뮤니케이션할 수 있는 능력이 있는가가 중요하다고 하겠습니다.
