안녕하세요! 반달곰원장입니다.
반달곰원장이 미국의 수많은 명문대학교 부설어학원과 일을 하고 있는데요, 등록을 마감한다고 메일을 보내는 학교는 아마도 UCSD 밖에 없는 것 같습니다. 이번에도 어김없이 일부프로그램 등록에 학생들이 넘쳐서 어쩔수 없이 조기마감한다고 연락이 왔습니다. 다른 학교들은 아마도 UCSD ESL프로그램을 많이 부러워 할 것 같습니다. UCSD International Program담당자인 Joy가 보내온 이메일 내용을 살펴보면 아래와 같습니다.
Dear Partner:
Greetings from San Diego. Due to the large number of enrollments in our Fall 10-week English language programs, we have now reached maximum capacity. The following three Fall 2015 English language programs are now closed:
1. Fall 10-week English language programs, beginning on September 21, 2015, are now closed to all new student applications. (Note: This is only in reference to our Fall 2015 10-week English language programs. We are accepting applications for Winter 2016 and Spring 2016; the 2016 application form should be uploaded to our website soon.)
2. October 4-week English language programs, September 28-October 23, 2015, are now closed to all new student applications.
3. November 4-week English language programs, October 26-November 20, are now closed to all new student applications.
If you have students who were interested in applying to our Fall 2015 10-week English language programs, please encourage them to apply to our Winter 2016 10-week English language programs. The 2016 application form will be available on our website by early August.
If you have students who are interested in applying to our December 2015 4-week English language programs, November 23 – December 18, please advise them to apply as soon as possible.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you or your students.

위의 내용에서 볼 수 있듯이 10주 인텐시브 ESL 2015년 9월 21일부터 시작하는 가을 과정은 마감이 되었고 이 과정을 공부하고 싶다면 2016년 겨울이나 봄과정을 신청하라는 말입니다. 아주 친절하게도 2016년 1월부터 시작하는 겨울과정과 3월부터 시작하는 봄학기는 지원서를 받는다고 하니 생각이 있으신 분들은 미리미리 지원하시길 바라겠습니다.
그리고 9월 28일부터 10월 23일 까지 진행하는 4W ESL 10월과정과 10월 26일부터 11월 20일까지 진행되는 4W 11월과정은 마감되었다고 합니다. 다행히도 11월 23일 부터 12월 18일까지 진행하는 4W ESL 12월과정의 원서 지원은 가능하니 빨리 지원하라고 친절히 안내하고 있습니다. UCSD 는 정말로 인원이 차면 더 이상 학생을 받지 않습니다. 그러므로 올해 겨울에 샌디에고로 어학연수를 생각하신다면 미리 서둘러 지원하시길 바랍니다.
UCSD만이 좋은 학교는 아니기에 UCSD가 마감되었다고 어학연수의 길이 끝나는 것은 아닙니다. 바로 옆의 캘리포니아주립대학교인 SDSU의 ESL과정도 있고 바로 위의 명문대학교인 UC IRVINE의 ESL과정도 매우 좋습니다. 부족한 영어실력을 향상시키기 위해서 어학연수를 고려하시는 직장인, 대학생분들은 반달곰원장에게 문의하시길 바랍니다. 친절하게 컨설팅해드리겠습니다.
