오늘은 나이가 16세에서 18세 사이의 중고생들을 위한 3주짜리 academic 그리고 residential program인 Academic Connections International(ACI)프로그램을 소개하여 드리겠습니다. 미국의 팀에이저들과 함께 미국의 대학준비과정을 같이 경험하고 싶은 학생들을 위한 프로그램인데 이 프로그램을 원하는 학생들은 반드시 우수한 학업성적기록과 상당한 영어실력이 있어야 합니다.
ACI프로그램에서 제공하고 있는 것이 무엇이며 어떤 내용과 서비스가 포함되어 있는지를 아래와 같이 샆펴보겠습니다.
What this program includes:
- On-campus housing with American students
- Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at campus cafeteria
- UC San Diego academic instruction each week
- An opportunity to take various chaperoned field trips to local sites
- Access to laboratory equipment as part of class work
- Guest speakers
- Project supplies
- Transportation to and from scheduled field trips during the program
- Constant adult supervision

즉, 3주간 미국학생들과 같이 먹고 자고 생활을 같이 합니다. 캠퍼스 카페테리아에서 아침 점심 저녁식사를 다 같이 합니다. 그리고 UCSD 의 아카데믹한 공부와 필드트립, 게스트 스피커 초청강연, 그리고 교통편과 지속적인 보호를 제공합니다. 그러므로 자녀를 멀리 미국으로 보내시는 부모님들의 걱정을 안심시켜 드릴 수 있습니다.
올해 ACI 과정의 3주간의 일정은 아래와 같습니다.
7월 12일 - 8월 1일 입니다. 그리고 지원서를 이번주 금요일인 6월 12일까지 받는 다고 합니다. 그러므로 한국시간으로는 13일까지 입학지원이 가능합니다. Academic Connections International과정에 지원하기 위해서 준비해야 할 것들이 많습니다. 아래와 같이 설명드립니다.

3. $200 USD Application Fee
4. $5,300 USD (This price includes all tuition and fees, activities, mandatory medical insurance, on-campus housing July 12 – August 1, 2015, and meals in dormitories with American students.)

6. English Recommendation Form
반달곰원장이 서류작업은 다 도와드릴 수 있기에 걱정하지 않으셔도 됩니다. 그냥 반달곰원장에게 요청만 하십시오. 그리고 위의 서류이외에도 실제 학기 시작 30일전에 제출해야 하는 것들이 따로 있는데 바로 아래와 같습니다.

좀 더 구체적으로 학비와 비용을 정리해드리면 아래와 같습니다.
Cost (In U.S. Dollars):
- Application fee: $200 (nonrefundable)
- Tuition: $5,300 (this price includes all tuition and fees, activities, mandatory medical insurance, on-campus housing and meals in dormitories with American students and chaperones on all field trips and in residence with the students at all times)
- San Diego airport pick-up fee: $75*
- Transportation to San Diego airport for departure: $75* (*available only to ACI students, as needed)
- Additional housing for July 10, 2015 and/or July 11, 2015: $120 USD per night
- SAT Workshop: $100
