우리는 시애틀만 생각하면 이 영화를 떠 올립니다. 시애틀의 잠 못이루는 밤. 맥라이언의 인기가 하늘을 찌를때 나온 이 영화는 맥 라이언의 사랑스런 매력에 흠뻑 젖어 들었었습니다. 그래서 시애틀이라는 도시가 우리의 마음에 자리를 잡았고 언제가는 가보고 말리라 다짐을 했었지요! 그래서 2009년 말 UC Berkeley IDP 과정을 마치고 UIC MBA에 입학하기로 결정한 후 반달곰원장은 마침내 혼자서 시애틀에 갑니다. 깨끗하게 정리되어 있던 도시 시애틀. 큰 지하통로의 길로 다니던 버스들. Farmers Market 에서 둘러 본 시장의 정겨운 모습들. 그리고 스페이스니들.
그런데 정작 가장 가봤어야 했던 워싱턴대학교(University of Washington)를 가보질 못했습니다. 반달곰원장이 워싱턴대학교 Foster business school의 VEP 과정과 Law school의 방문학자 프로그램을 많이 보내드리고 있고, 비즈니스 전문연수와 CIEP, DIEP등 어학연수를 많이 도와드리고 있기에 못가본 것이 너무나 안타깝습니다.
