수년간 독일 보딩스쿨의 학생수가 급감하면서 국제학생을 받아들이면서 어려움을 극복하려고 애쓰고 있다고 합니다. 하지만, 특히 작은 규모의 기숙학교는 비유럽 국가에서 온 학생들의 입학과 관련된 국적에 맞는 적절한 서비스, 비자신청 지원, 방과 후 관리 등 자신들의 학교를 적극적으로 마케팅하는데 수반되는 추가적인 노력을 기울일 수 있는 여력이 없습니다. 그래서, 오늘 소개하는 Way2Germany라는 교육회사는 필요에 따라 이용할 수 있는 모듈형의 서비스를 만들어서 파트너 학교와 국제학생에게 제공하고 있습니다.
정확히 말하면, 외국 학생들이 자신에게 맞는 독일 내 고등학교를 찾는 것을 도와주며, 학교가 학생의 입학에 필요한 절차를 잘 밟을 수 있도록 중간에서 가교 역할을 해 주는 곳이 바로 Way2Germany로 학생, 학교, 부모님을 연결하는 중간 소통 기관이라고 보시면 됩니다.
Way2Germany는 학생들이 학교와 목표하는 프로그램을 선택하고, 비자를 취득하는데 도움을 주며, 방과 후 관리 등의 서비스를 제공하여 독일에서 문제없이 정착할 수 있도록 도움을 주고 있습니다.
독일은 대학을 가기 위해서는 아비투어라고 하는 고등학교 과정을 마칠 때 보는 시험을 볼 필요가 있으며, 아비투어의 합격에 의해 대학 입학 자격이 주어집니다.
Way2Germany의 파트너 학교로 고등학교 졸업 시험 및 대학 자격 시험으로 아비투어를 제공하는 독일 보딩스쿨이 있고, 영어로 수업이 진행되는 International Baccalaureate 디플로마를 제공하는 독일 보딩스쿨이 있습니다.
영어 혹은 독일어로 진행하는 커리큘럼의 학교가 있기 때문에 현재 독일어 능력에 따라 학교를 선택할 수 있고, 아직은 독일어가 불충분하다면, 현지에 도착해서 집중적인 독일어 학습을 통해 독일어 커리큘럼에 합류할 수 있습니다.
