Cox MSBA는 풀타임 혹은 파트타임의 포맷으로 진행되기 때문에 국제학생은 선택의 여지가 없겠지만, 비자 문제가 없는 미국 내 거주자라면, 파트타임으로도 취득할 수 있는 석사 학위 과정입니다.
Cox의 MSBA 프로그램은 비즈니스 분석가, 데이터 분석 전문가, 마케팅 분석가, 금융 분석가, 데이터 베이스와 데이터 웨어하우스 설계자와 데이터 과학자에 이르기까지 비즈니스 분석의 급성장하는 분야에서 성공적인 경력을 쌓을 수 있도록 교육하는 과정입니다.
빅데이터를 통해 복잡성을 활용할 수 있는 고도로 전문화된 인재를 보유한 기업의 경우 제품과 서비스 제공을 실시간으로 고객에 맞출 수 있습니다. SMU Cox는 빅데이터를 사용하여 오늘날의 비즈니스 과제를 해결하는데 관심이 있는 사람들을 위한 MSBA 프로그램을 개발했을 때 고도 성장 및 고수익의 진로를 인정받았습니다. 실제 비즈니스 분석 분야의 직책에서 85%가 고학력을 요구하며, 그 분야 경력에서75%는 MS 학위를 학력 요구 사항으로 꼽습니다.
Cox의 MSBA의 특징은 아래와 같습니다.
· The MSBA is a 33 credit-hour degree. The Full-Time program is two semesters (four, 7-week Modules) which starts in August and completed in May the following year. The Part-Time program is 4 semesters (seven, 7-week Modules), which starts in August and completed in December the following year.
· This degree program is "jointly owned" by the Information Technology and Operations Management (ITOM) Department and the Marketing Department within the SMU Cox Business School. It focuses on true Business Analytics from a Business, Statistical and Information Technology perspective.
· Students have the option of two program specialization, or tracks
· Business Process Analytics- DB Concepts & Applications
· Customer Analytics - Marketing Research & Customer Centric Analytics
· Instruction is in traditional classroom with all courses being taught on the Main Campus.
· Candidates come from a variety of backgrounds including degrees in economics, math, engineering, marketing and science. All degrees are welcome to apply.
· This program is STEM and OPT certified.
풀타임의 2학기에 걸쳐 33학점을 이수해야 학위를 취득할 수 있으며, 7주로 이루어진 모듈을 네 번을 거치게 되어 있습니다. SMU Cox와 ITOM 부서와 공동 학위로 비즈니스, 통계 및 정보 기술 관점에서 진정한 비즈니스 분석에 중점을 둡니다. 그리고, 학생들은 두 전공/트랙 중 선택할 수 있습니다.

이 프로그램은 STEM 인증 과정이기에 국제학생이 OPT를 최대 3년까지 할 수 있는 혜택이 있습니다.
SMU Cox MSBA 프로그램의 장점이라고 한다면, 국제학생의 경우 졸업 6개월 이내에 93%의 취업률을 보였는데요. 미국 졸업생이 95%에 비하면 약간 수치가 적지만, 그래도 학위가 쓸모가 있음을 보여주고 있습니다. 미국내 학생의 경우 초봉과 보너스가 $135,000으로 국내 평균 이상을 차지했습니다. 커리큘럼에 있는 Managing Your Career에 참여한 기업의 리스트를 열거해보면 아래와 같습니다.

Cox MSBA 과정의 커리큘럼은 아래와 같이 Summer Self Study를 거쳐, 한 학기에 모듈 2개씩, 총 4개의 모듈에서 필수 과목 및 선택과목을 수강하게 됩니다.
입학을 위한 준비물은 아래와 같으며, SMU Cox BBA 학부 과정을 GPA 3.4 이상으로 마친 학생들을 제외하고는 모든 지원자가 GMAT이나 GRE 점수를 제출해야 합니다.

국제학생의 경우 공인영어 성적을 제출해야 하는데요. TOEFL의 경우 최소 점수가 100점이 되어야 지원을 고려해 볼 수 있습니다. 그리고, GMAT의 경우 Verbal에서 80퍼센트 이상이어야 합니다.
2019년 가을학기 지원 마감일 일정은 아래와 같으며, 5라운드에 걸쳐 진행하나 국제학생의경우 4라운드인 3월 4일까지 지원을 마쳐야 합니다.
