오늘은 반달곰원장이 미국 엘에이에 있는 명문주립대 UCLA의 Anderson Business School의 MBA프로그램을 안내해드리겠습니다. 워낙 명문대학교이고 한국 교민들이 많이 살고 있으며 한국보다 더 맛이 좋은 맛집들이 모여 있어서 한국 후보자들이 선호하는 지역이자 MBA프로그램입니다.

위에서도 말을 하고 있지만 가장 중요한 것은 GMAT/GRE시험을 보라고 하고 있습니다. 그리고 지원서 작업을 시작하고 추천서를 받은 후에 에세이를 작성해라. 그리고 지원서를 제출한 후에 인터뷰 초청이 오기를 기다려라. 그리고 인터뷰를 해라 라고 안내를 하고 있습니다. 그럼 어느 일정으로 지원준비를 해야 할지 데드라인을 살펴보겠습니다.

라운드 1의 마감일은 10월 2일,라운드 2의 마감일은 1월 8일, 마지막 라운드 3의 마감일은 4월 16일입니다. 이런 일정에 맞추어서 지원서 준비를 해야 하는데 주의를 해야할 사항을 안내해드리겠습니다. 먼저 GMAT/GRE에 대해서 말씀드리면, 최저점수가 없습니다. 그러므로 최대한 점수를 만드시길 부탁드리겠습니다. 그리고 다음은 직장경력인데 보통 5년정도의 직장경력을 가지고 있지만 직장 경력이 없어도 MBA지원이 가능합니다.
추천서는 처음 MBA를 지원하는 분은 두명의 추천서, 재응시자는 한명의 추천서를 제출하면 됩니다. 그리고 가장 중요한 에세이의 질문을 살펴보면 아래와 같습니다.
First-Time Applicants
Essay Question: Describe your short-term and long-term career goals. How can the UCLA Anderson experience add value to your professional development? (500 words maximum)
Short Answer Question: What are you passionate about and why? (300 words maximum)
Optional Question: Are there any extenuating circumstances in your profile about which the Admissions Committee should be aware? Please use your best judgment. (250 words maximum)
No preference is given in the evaluation process to applicants who submit a response to the optional question.
에세이질문은 매우 일반적이면서도 필수적인 내용입니다. 500단어의 에세이 하나와 300단어의 짧은 에세이 하나씩 제출하면 됩니다. 그리고 선택사항인데 optional essay는 입학사정위원회에 어필 할 사항이 있을 때 작성하면 되는데 그것인 평가하는데 영향을 끼치지는 않습니다만 참고는 할 것입니다.
외국학생들은 영어점수를 제출해야 합니다. IBT는 87점, PBT 560점, IELTS는 7.0이상이어야 합니다. IBT의 각 밴드 조건은 아래와 같습니다.
