UC Irvine MBA/학사학위 및 전문연수 그리고 악마의 바람산불소식
안녕하세요, 반달곰원장입니다.
오늘은 미국 캘리포니아 어바인인근에서 발생한 산불로 어바인에 많이 거주하는 한인들이 피난길을 떠나고 있습니다. 다수의 언론들을 통해서 살펴본 어바인의 피해 현황은 상당히 심각한 것 같습니다. 상당한 지역을 태우고 있는 실버라도 파이어는 현재 진화율이 5% 정도 수준입니다. 그래서 주민들 뿐만 아니라 어바인의 명문대학교 UC Irvine 학생들에게 영향을 끼치고 있습니다.
반달곰원장이 UC Irvine 의 Merage School of Business MBA 프로그램을 많이 컨설팅하지만 Division of Continuing Education 로 전문연수 과정도 많이 도와드리고 있습니다. 우리가 옛날 Extension이라고 불렀던 교육기관에서 전문연수와 어학연수를 하는데 학교에서 그 학생들에게 아래와 같은 산불 위험에 대한 경고 이메일을 보내 왔습니다.
Dear Partner,
As you may have heard in the news reports, a fire began in the area of Santiago Canyon Road / Silverado Canyon Road early yesterday morning (an area near Tustin and near North Irvine). There were mandatory evacuation orders for areas close to the fire.
We would like to share the message that was sent to our students from our Student Services team.
Dear Student,
Early this morning, a fire began in the area of Santiago Canyon Road / Silverado Canyon Road (an area near Tustin and near North Irvine). There may be mandatory evacuation orders for areas close to the fire.
This means if you live in the “evacuation” area, you MUST leave the area as soon as possible until you are allowed to go back again. The fire department will determine when you can return.
Please see the City of Irvine's website for additional and current information about help and a place to say if you need to evacuate.
The present air quality is currently UNHEALTHY, so we also recommend you avoid exercising outside. If you do not need to go outside, then please remain inside and keep your windows and doors closed.

학교의 이메일을 보면 당장 탈출하라고 경고 하고 있습니다. 그리고 허락할 때까지 돌아오지 말라고 경고 하고 있습니다. 소방당국이 언제 돌아올지 알려준다고 하니 그때까지 기다려야 할 것 같습니다. 어바인에는 UC Irvine같은 명문대학교도 있고 반달곰원장이 많이 도와드리고 있는 Westcliff University 와 Irvine Valley College 등등 많은 학교의 학생들도 마찬가지로 위험 하오니 제때에 피난해야 합니다.
