오늘은 반달곰원장이 지난번 소개해드린 옥스포드대학교 Said MBA 다음으로 캠브리지대학교 Judge MBA에 대해서 말씀드리겠습니다. 반달곰원장이 아니러니하게도 영국의 캠브리지를 아직 방문하지 못했었습니다. 올해 캠브리지를 방문할 예정이었는데 코로나로 어렵게 되었습니다. 정말 건강할 때, 그리고 세상이 허락할 때 여행다니고 싶은면 여행다니시고 유학하고 싶으면 유학하시길 바라겠습니다.
먼저 University of Cambridge Judge MBA에서 원하는 후보자에 대한 기준을 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.

옥스포드 Said MBA는 4라운드에 걸쳐서 지원서를 받지만 캠브리지 Judge MBA는 5라운드에 걸쳐서 입학지원을 받습니다. 9월 7일 라운드1 마감을 시작으로 10월 19일, 1월 11일, 3월 8일 그리고 마지막 라운드5의 마감일 4월 26일로 최종 마감을 합니다. 이 마감일에 맞춰서 준비해야할 필수 사항들을 살펴보면 아래와 같습니다.

A GMAT/GRE score: You have to take either the GMAT or GRE to apply to Cambridge. We do not request a specific score range, but our average GMAT score this year is c.691 (mid-80% range is 640-730).

Essay questions on the form
The following are the main essay questions on the Cambridge MBA application:
Please provide a personal statement. It should not exceed 500 words and must address the following questions:
What are your short, and long term, career objectives and what skills/characteristics do you already have that will help you achieve them?
What actions will you take before and during the MBA to contribute to your career outcome?
If you are unsure of your post-MBA career path, how will the MBA equip you for the future?
Describe a difficult decision that you had to make. What did you learn from this and how have you changed as a result? (up to 200 words)
Describe a time where you worked with a team on a project. What did you learn from the experience and how might you approach it differently today? (up to 200 words)
If you could give one piece of advice to your 18-year-old self, what would it be? (up to 200 words)
English language skills
You are required to show English language proficiency to apply for the Cambridge MBA. To demonstrate this, English must be your native language, or you must have a TOEFL score of at least 110, or an IELTS score of at least 7.5.
위의 조건들을 살펴보면 GMAT의 평균 점수는 691점입니다. 합격자의 80% 학생의 점수는 640-730입니다. 그러므로 700점을 목표로 준비하시길 바라겠습니다. 캠브리지MBA에 도전하기 위해서는 GMAT도 중요하지만 영어점수가 더 중요할 수가 있습니다. 왜냐하면 상당히 높은 수준의 점수를 요구하고 있기 때문입니다. IBT 110, IELTS 7.5를 요구하고 있는데 거의 네이티브 수준의 영어실력을 갖추어야 가능하겠습니다.
이렇게 캠브리지 Judge MBA의 입학지원일정과 입학지원조건을 살펴보았습니다. 마지막으로 학비를 안내해드리면 총 57000파운드입니다. 한화로는 약 8천9백만원 정도입니다. 옥스포드MBA보다는 약 1000만원정도 저렴한 학비입니다. 그러므로 학비에 대한 부담이 있는 분들은 옥스포드MBA보다는 캠브리지MBA가 좀 더 나을 것 같습니다.
