오늘 반달곰원장은 유튜브의 먹방을 통해서 알게된 종로으 맛집이라는 영춘옥에 가서 따귀라는 별명의 음식인 뼈다귀찜을 먹었습니다. 열심히 일하고 친한 고등학교 동창과 가서 맛있게 먹고 난 후에 여의도로 다시 돌아와 따릉이를 타고 다섯바퀴를 돌고 나니 너무나 행복하더군요. 인생에 있어서 거대한 목표를 달성할 때만이 행복한 것이 아니고 사소한 것에도 이렇게 행복할 수 있다는 사실에 감사를 하였습니다.
이런 행복한 마음으로 반달곰원장은 미국 휴스톤의 명문사립대학교인 Rice University, 썰렁하지만 쌀대학교, 밥대학교로 날아갑니다. 미국의 탑랭킹, 항상 20위권을 유지하고 있는 Rice University의 Jones Business School은 미국에서 상당히 인기가 많은데 한국 후보자들에게는 그렇게 인기가 높지는 않은 것 같습니다. 그것은 학생수를 통해서 알 수 있는데 작년인가 재작년에 만난 학생이 말하길 한국 학생이 2-3명 정도 있다고 하더군요. 이렇게 명문대학교 Rice University Jones MBA에 왜 한국학생들이 적은지 그 이유는 정확히 모르겠으나 그 요인중의 하나는 우리나라 사람들의 학교에 대한 편견 때문이 아닐까 싶습니다.
