오늘은 반달곰원장이 미국 시카고에 있는 크지 않지만 아주 알차고 실력 있는, 그리고 전통 있는 대학교의 프로그램을 소개해드리겠습니다. 그 대학교는 바로 시카고에 있는, 시카고 전철을 타고 등하교를 할 수 있는 Concordia University Chicago에 대해서 오랜만에 다시 말씀드리겠습니다.
반달곰원장이 3년전인가 시카고를 방문했을 때 콩코디아대학교 시카고를 공식적으로 방문하고 교수들과 미팅을 했었습니다. 반달곰원장이 콩코디아대학교 시카고를 찾아갈 때 주변의 주택들이 한눈에 보더라도 부촌임을 금방 알 수 있을 만큼 잘 정돈 되어 있는 것을 보고 놀랐었습니다. 전혀 이런 좋은 환경을 기대하지 않았기 때문입니다.
그리고 대학교캠퍼스도 크지는 않지만 예쁘고 아담하여 미국대학교 캠퍼스를 즐기기에는 충분하였습니다. 방문했던 날 학교의 다이닝홀에서 점심부페를 먹었던 기억도 납니다. 다양한 음식들이 제공되는데 본인의 취향에 따라서 선택하여 먹을 수 있게 되어 있습니다. 다시 한번 가보고 싶어지네요.

위에서 많은 부분을 설명하고 있지만 반달곰원장의 눈에는 크게 두개가 들어옵니다. 하나는 CUC 석사과정의 경우 1년과 2년 프로그램이 있어서 본인의 니즈에 따라서 결정할 수 있다는 것입니다. 그리고 CUC 졸업생들은 졸업한지 6개월 이내에 취업할 확률이 무려 90%나 된다는 것입니다. 이 정도이면 충분히 한국학생들에게 매력적일 수 있습니다.

오랜만에 반달곰원장이 시카고에 있는 Concordia University Chicago CUC 석사과정에 대해서 설명을 드렸습니다. 이 학교에서 유명한 프로그램은 MBA와 MA TESOL이라고 할 수 있는 학비가 상당히 저렴해서 경쟁력이 있습니다. MBA는 기본이 2만 7천달러 수준입니다. 그리고 MA TESOL은 2만달러입니다. 그리고 대학교 때 성적에 따라서 장학금을 15%나 받을 수 있으므로 큰 부담이 없습니다.
