미국에서 과학농업을 최초로 가르친 것으로 유명한 Michigan State University는 1855년에 설립될 당시 Agricultural College of the State of Michigan이라는 이름을 가진 고등 교육기관이었습니다. 여러 차례 대학의 공식 이름을 바꾸면서 1964년에 이르러서야 현재의 미시간주립 학의 이름을 갖게 되었습니다. 캠퍼스는 이스트 랜싱에 위치하며, 2017년 가을학기 기준으로 대략 50,019명의 학생이 MSU에 재학중인 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 이때 학부는 대략 39,000명, 대학원생은 11,000명으로 13.7%가 국제학생입니다.

MBA 프로그램 이외에 다양한 석사 학위 과정을 제공하고 있는데, 특히 유통 경영 과정의 경우 US. News & World Report에서 거의 10년 동안 2위의 자리를 차지하고 있습니다. 여기에 Hospitality 비즈니스 프로그램의 경우 미국 내 가장 영향력이 있는 과정 중 하나입니다. Business Analytics 프로그램은 경험적인 학습에 바탕을 두고 있습니다. 코스는 사회 네트워크 분석, 웹 분석, 최고의 비즈니스 분석 기업 프로젝트 등을 포함하고 있습니다.
MS-Business Analytics 프로그램에서 학생들은 MSU의 Broad College of Business 교수진뿐만 아니라 College of Engineering과 College of Natural Science의 교수진으로부터 비즈니스, 컴퓨터 과학, 통계학 수업을 배우게 됩니다. 살아있는 데이터 분석 프로젝트와 실생활의 문제 해결에 관한 경험을 쌓게 되며, 자신의 비즈니스 지식을 넓히고 자신의 전문성을 발전하는 분야로 연결할 수 있게 됩니다.

비즈니스 분석학 석사 학위 과정에 관심이 있는 분들이라면, 요즘의 트렌드에 맞춰 좀 더 좋은 조건으로 이직이나 취직을 목표로 삼을 것입니다. 2016년 MSU 이 전공 졸업자의 평균 연봉은 $85,200이었다고 하며, 현재 졸업생 100%가 취업에 성공을 했다고 합니다. 2017년 졸업생의 경우 여름에 있었던 인턴쉽의 평균 급여는 대략 시간당 $26으로 33명 중의 32명이 여름 인턴쉽을 가졌습니다.

비즈니스 분석학 석사 과정은 공식적인 STEM 학위 과정으로 졸업 후 국제학생은 미국에서 3년 동안 일을 할 수 있는 자격이 주어집니다. 학위 과정 후 일반적인 12개월의 OPT 후 24개월의 STEM OPT 연장을 할 수 있어 이 학위 과정의 가치가 높습니다.

MSU의 Business Analytics의 석사 학위 과정의 지원은 4라운드에 걸쳐 진행되며, 신청 마감일은 아래와 같습니다.
Round 1: April 1st with admit notifications by the end of the

모든 지원자는 늦어도 10월 1일까지는 신청을 맞춰야 하며, 합격 발표는 10월에 나옵니다.
지원을 위해서 지원자가 반드시 갖춰야 하는 서류입니다. 대학교 졸업/성적증명서 및 GMAT/GRE 성적이 필요합니다.
- A completed bachelor’s degree from a recognized educational institution.
- A working knowledge of personal computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, networking and data-base management systems.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Java, HTML, as well as experience in using statistical packages, and use of statistical software programs.
- Strong scores on the GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test). The MS in Business Analytics GMAT code is QHO-5P-59. The GRE (Graduate Record Exam, university code 1465) may be accepted as an alternate to the GMAT. Waivers are not granted on GMAT/GRE requirement.
- NEW FOR MSU STUDENTS: We now waive the GMAT/GRE requirement for Michigan State University graduates with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.
- A relatively recent laptop computer with Microsoft Office (No more than 2 years old).
보통은 GRE/GMAT은 면제가 안되나 MSU 졸업생인 경우, GPA가 3.25 이상이면, 이 성적을 제출할 필요가 없습니다.
위의 서류이외에 국제학생은 학업성적 이외에 영어 점수와 재정 서류가 추가로 필요합니다.
- The undergraduate degree must be the equivalent to a four-year degree in the United States.
- English competency test scores are required with the following minimum scores: TOEFL: 250 on computer version and 100 on the Internet-Based Test and a 7 of the IELTS. English competency test takers should use the Michigan State University code 1465. Waivers may onLY be considered for students that have graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelors degree.
- Affidavit of Support and Bank Statement: In order to obtain the documents needed to file for a student visa (I-20 or DS-2019), students must show adequate proof of financial support. All international students must provide a signed affidavit of support and bank statement with the name of the account holder in English.
- Transcripts: Request that all secondary schools, colleges, or universities attended, and examination boards send original or attested copies of all transcripts, diplomas, mark sheets, and certificates directly to us in an official, sealed envelope. In addition, where the original documents are not issued in English, also provide an official English translation of each document.
영어 점수로는 TOEFL 100점 혹은 IELTS 7점 이상을 요구하고 있습니다. 만약 100% 학사학위를 미국에서 받은 것이라면, 영어 성적을 제출할 필요가 없습니다.
2017년 학비의 경우 외국 학생의 경우 $39,000으로 3학기에 나눠 납입할 수 있습니다. 생활비, 보험료, 교재비 등을 포함해 1년 유학 경비는 대략 7만불 예상해 볼 수 있습니다.
