오늘은 반달곰원장이 일본의 KBS에 대해서 말씀드리겠습니다. KBS라고 해서 KBS를 생각하시면 안되고 바로 명문대학교 게이오대학교의 비즈니스스쿨 Keio Business School 에 대해서 말씀드리려고 합니다. 반달곰원장이 와세대대학교MBA를 설명하면서 게이오대학교 MBA를 설명드리려고 했으나 영어로 진행하는 와세다MBA와는 다르게 게이오MBA는 일본어로 진행을 하기에 설명을 안했습니다. 그런데 많은 분들이 문의를 해서 안내를 해드리겠습니다.
게이오비즈니스스쿨은 1962년에 일본의 첫번째 full-fledged business school로 설립되었습니다. 그리고 1969년에 1년MBA를 시작하였었는데 1978년에 일본의 최초 2년제MBA로 전환을 하였습니다. 그리고 1991년에 박사학위 프로그램을 시작하였습니다. 그럼 개요를 보여드리면 아래와 같습니다.

위에서 보시면 아시겠지만 매년 4월에 시작을 합니다. 140명정도의 학생이 등록을 하는데 부여되는 학위가 바로 MBA 학위입니다. 그럼 게이오MBA 입학에 관한 설명을 드리겠습니다. 게이오MBA에 입학하기 위해서는 Entrance examination시험을 치러야 합니다. 입학시험은 일년에 두번 기회가 있는데 늦은 10월과 이른 1월에 시험이 있습니다.
1단계 시험은 지원서를 바탕으로 한 지원자에 대한 스크린닝을 의미합니다. 질문을 바탕으로 이루어지는데 주로 이런 질문에 대해서 답변을 해야 합니다. why they apply for our program and what their career plans are 즉, 왜 게이오MBA에 지원하는지, 그리고 MBA이후 본인의 커리어 목표는 무엇인지에 대해서 이야기를 하면 됩니다.
2단계 시험은 written exam과 인터뷰로 이루어져 있습니다. 말씀드렸다시피 일본어로 제공되는 MBA과정이므로 인터뷰동안 일본어 능력을 체크합니다. 일본어가 매우 중요하므로 일본어가 안되는 분들은 입학하기가 어려울 것입니다. 그리고 게이오MBA는 직장경력을 요구하지 않기에 직장 경력이 없어도 입학지원을 할 수가 있습니다. 그럼 입학지원 조건등을 살펴보겠습니다.
1.The aim of the Entrance Examination
The entrance examination tests the motivation and ability of applicants to fully understand the purpose of the school and the contents of all courses that the students are required to learn.
2.Prerequisites for admission
Applicants wishing to take the entrance examination must satisfy one of the following criteria:
University graduate, or expected to graduate from university
Received a bachelor degree from an institution authorized to confer degrees, or expected to receive a bachelor degree
Completed sixteen years of school education overseas
Nominated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
Completed fifteen years of school education overseas, and recognized by KBS as having obtained outstanding results in credits stipulated by KBS at the applicable university
Recognized by KBS as having academic capabilities equal or superior to university graduates
위에서 볼 수있는 것처럼 GMAT이나 GRE를 요구하지 않고, 일본어 공식점수를 요구하지는 않습니다. 인터뷰와 시험을 잘 보면 가능성이 있습니다. 이런 게이오MBA 입학을 위한 지원일정은 아래와 같습니다.
