반달곰원장이 5월 22일부터 일본 도쿄로 출장을 가는데 벌써 도쿄에 있는 비즈니스스쿨들과 미팅이 다 잡혀서 이번에도 정신없이 일만 하다가 올 것 같습니다. 반달곰원장이 일본대학교 MBA프로그램에 대해서 관심을 별로 안가졌었는데 많은 분들이 문의를 하셔서 영어로 진행하는 MBA프로그램인 Waseda MBA, Hitotsubashi MBA프로그램들을 컨설팅하고 있습니다. 그리고 일본비즈니스스쿨의 신흥명문이자 실력있는 비즈니스스쿨인 Globis University Business School에 뒤 늦었지만 소개를 드리겠습니다.

당연히 이번 출장에 Globia MBA담당자와 미팅약속이 잡혀있습니다. Globis University Graduate School of Management에서는 처음에 주중과 주말에 파트타임MBA를 제공했었습니다. 그리고 풀타임MBA와 작년부터는 온라인MBA프로그램을 제공하고 있습니다. 

일본 Nikkei Career Magazine 2010년도 랭킹에서 student satisfaction부분에서 일본 전체 1위를 차지하였고, 2012년의 Nikkei Inc. and Nikkei Human Resources Inc 의 조사에서는 Top Popularity Ranking of Business School분야에서 일본의 Hitotsubashi MBA와 Aoyama Gakuin같은 전통적인 명문MBA를 누르고 전체 3위를 차지하는 기염을 토했습니다.

그럼 Globis Full Time MBA과정에 대해서 안내를 해드리겠습니다. Globis MBA는 1년제 풀타임MBA입니다. 12개월의 MBA과정 동안에 3개월의 인턴쉽과정이 포함되어 있습니다. 매년 9월에 시작을 하는데 입학지원일정은 이렇습니다. 11월 8일, 2월7일, 5월 20일 입니다. 그러므로 2018학년도 입학하고자 하는 분은 아직 입학지원을 할 수가 있습니다. 그리고 영어로 수업이 진행되면 학비는 총 3991000엔입니다. 요즘 엔화가 많이 싸져서 한국학생들에게는 매우 유리한 상황입니다. 국내MBA인 서울대MBA,고려대MBA,연세대MBA보다 저렴합니다.

그럼 기본적인 입학자격조건과 입학지원서류를 알아보겠습니다.

Have at least two years of full-time work experience by the time of entrance

Received a bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university.

지원자격조건은 심플합니다. 기본적으로 풀타임직장 경력 2년이상과 학사학위이상이면 됩니다. 나이는 22세이상이면 되므로 나이로 문제가 될 분은 별로 없을 것 같습니다. 지원서류와 에세이 질문은 아래와 같습니다.

Personal Data (required for all)

Fill out your personal data, work experience and academic record as requested on the online Admission System.

Photo (required for all)

Upload a high resolution digital image in JPEG format (must be 500KB to 2MB).

Letter of Recommendation (required for all)

One letter of recommendation is required.

The recommender should be a supervisor or person who has or has had a close business relationship with you.

Transcript (required for all)

Upload a transcript of your bachelor's degree (master's/doctoral degrees are additional and optional).

Certificate of Graduation

Evidence of English Ability

TOEFL, TOEIC, and IELTS scores are accepted. (We strongly recommend the TOEFL test.)

Essays (required for all)

GMAT/GRE Score Report (optional, but recommended)

CV (optional)

Summary and Evidence of Financial Resources (all non-Japanese applicants)

The evidence must show at least JPY 1.5 million per year, and if you bring your family member to Japan, evidence of additional JPY 500,000 per year per family member is required.

Residence Card (all non-Japanese applicants living in Japan)

Application Fee

Applicants living in Japan: JPY 36,000

Applicants living overseas: JPY 15,000

Essay Questions

The following essay questions need to be answered in your application. Please emphasize any international experience where applicable.

 

Q1. Tell us about a recent work or project experience about which you were passionate. Describe why you were passionate about the experience, how your skills and values contributed to the experience, and how you worked with others. (250 to 550 words)

 

Q2. Tell us about a challenging situation that you have personally faced. Describe concretely what you did about the situation as well as what you learned from it. (250 to 550 words)

 

Q3. Tell us about a long-term goal or vision for society and your plan to realize this vision. Describe specifically the source of inspiration for your vision, such as an inspiring person, book, or other experience. Describe how GLOBIS University and an MBA degree will help realize your vision and concrete steps make this vision a reality. (250 to 550 words)

 

Q4. Tell us about any volunteer activities, social activities, or school groups that you have been involved with. Describe the activity as well as your role and how long you were involved. Additionally, mention any academic and/or business awards you have received. (250 to 550 words)

입학조건을 보면 GMAT은 있으면 좋지만 필수는 아닙니다. 그리고 영어는 토익 850, IBT 100, IELTS 6.5이상을 선호합니다. 그러나 절대적인 요구점수는 아니니 참고하시길 바랍니다. 

일본에서 탑랭킹 비즈니스스쿨인데도 불구하고 입학조건이 어려운 것은 아닙니다. 일년동안 열심히 일하고 요즘 구인난을 겪는 일본에서 취업을 생각해보는 것도 나쁘지는 않겠습니다. 우리나라의 집값, 물가가 매우 높기에 일본에서의 집값과 물가가 그렇게 무서운 것은 아닙니다. 잘 준비하셔서 올해나 내면 잘 도전하시길 바랍니다. 반달곰원장이 다음주에 방문하고 와서 더 좋은 소식으로 찾아 뵙도록 하겠습니다.
