안녕하세요, 반달곰원장입니다.
독일 베를린을 금방 다녀왔었는데 이제는 독일 뮌헨으로 달려갑니다. 독일에서 6번째로 오래되고 학문적 우숭성으로 매우 유명한 대학교인 Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich 에 대해서 말씀드리겠습니다. 반달곰원장이 자주 소개한 줄 알았더니 이번에 보니 한번밖에 소개하지 않았더라구요. 아마도 LMU가 MBA를 제공하지 않아서 그런 것 같습니다. 이제부터라도 자주 소개해드리도록 하겠습니다.
LMU Munich 에는 학생 수가 5만여명이 될 정도로 대형대학교입니다. 그 만큼 다양한 단과대학교들로 이루어져 있슴을 알 수가 있습니다. 그 단과대학교를 확인해보면 아래와 같습니다.

이중에서 Master in Business Administration에 대해서 알아보겠습니다. 이 과정은 MBA는 아니지만 MBA와 거의 비슷한 이름을 가지고 있습니다. 이렇게 MSc Business Administration는 실용적인 부분보다는 아카데믹한 공부를 한다는 점에서 MBA와 다릅니다. 이 과정은 2년과정입니다. 그래서 기업에서 스폰 받는 분들중에서 유럽으로 2년MBA를 원하시는 분들이 많은데 2년MBA가 별로 없습니다. 그래서 회사에서 허락을 받는다면 LMU Munich MSc Business Administration과정을 공부하는 것도 좋겠습니다.
그런데 MSc Business Administration에 입학하기 위해서는 학부의 전공이 경영학이나 경제학등 관련공부를 한 학생들에게만 허용이 되고 있습니다. 이 석사과정은 영어와 독일어 능력을 모두 갖추어야 하는데 그와 함께 입학지원 조건을 알아보겠습니다.
What documents do I need to apply?
A filled-out and signed application form
Your CV;
A copy of the certificate of your Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline. Bachelor’s degrees need to have 180 ECTS points, including 15 ECTS points in basic business administration and 15 ECTS points in economics.
A letter of recommendation from a member of staff at your home university.
Non–native-German speakers will need proof of German language proficiency (DSH 2 or equivalent) as well as written proof of university admission in order to obtain health insurance, to register your place of residence, and for other administrative services.
- A valid passport or identity card;
- If applicable, a marriage certificate or official name-change document;
- Proof of health insurance or a waiver document (please see our website information on insurance);
- (for applicants who have not yet graduated from their first degree) Documentation of your undergraduate studies and results attained so far
- (for applicants who have already graduated from their first degree) Original copies of all prior university graduation certificates, diplomas, and qualifying examination certificates;
- Proof of any prior study at a German university or a university in your home country;
- The withdrawal (Exmatrikulation) stamp or certificate in your matriculation book (Studienbuch) from the German university you last attended.
Non–Native-English Speakers will also need to provide proof of English language proficiency if your first university degree was not conducted in English. We accept TOEFL internet-based min. 100 points; TOEFL computer-based min. 250 points; TOEFL paper-based min. 600 points; or IELTS min 7.5.
If you do not have a GMAT score equal to or greater than 600 points, you will have an opportunity to take a written test at the Faculty of Business Administration at LMU in Munich. If you pass this test the GMAT requirement will be waived.
위에서 보시다시피 독일어 DSH 2이상의 실력이어야 하고 영어는 IBT 100, 또는 IELTS 7.5이상이어야 합니다. LMU Munich에 입학하기가 정말 어려운 이유가 바로 이렇게 두 언어를 잘 해야 한다는 조건때문일 것입니다. GMAT점수도 필요한데 600점이상의 점수가 없으면 LMU Munich에서 written test를 통과하면 면제 받을 수가 있습니다.
이 석사과정은 겨울에 시작을 하는데 입학지원 마감이 5월 15일 입니다. 그러므로 내년 1월 시작을 원하는 분들은 서둘러서 준비하여 지원작업을 하여야 합니다.
