안녕하세요, 반달곰원장입니다.
오늘은 반달곰원장이 미국의 대학교중에서 실속있고 입학이 조금은 쉬운 학교를 소개해드리겠습니다. 미국 세인트루이스와 가까운 Webster Groves에 위치한 비영리 사립대학교인 바로 Webster University입니다. 웹스터대학교는 재미있게도 미국내 여러도시에 캠퍼스를 두고 있을 뿐만 아니라 전세계 주요 나라에도 캠퍼스를두고 있어 학생들이 글로벌 경험을 쌓을 수가 있습니다.
1915년에 설립된 웹스터대학교는 캠퍼스를 세계 어러곳에 두고 있지만 반달곰원장은 미국의 메인캠퍼스인 Webster Groves 에서 제공하는 프로그램중에서 MBA 프로그램에 대해서 안내를 해드리겠습니다. 물론 Webster University에는 MBA외에도 다양한 학사 석사 프로그램이 있습니다. 그중에서 오늘은 비즈니스와 경영학관련학과를 자세히 살펴보면 아래와 같습니다.

세부전공에 따라서 이수해야할 학점이 다릅니다만 이 과정에 입학하기 위한 입학지원조건은 같습니다. 특히나 국제학생들의 입학조건은 아래와 같으니 미국 중부의 실력있는 비즈니스스쿨의 MBA에 입학하고자 하는 분들은 아래의 내용을 잘 준비하시길 바랍니다.
Additional Application Requirements
· Documentation of English Language Proficiency:
IBT 80, Academic IELTS 6.5, or Pearson scores 61
· A 300- to 400-word essay on a topic of your choice. You may describe a special interest, experience, or achievement or a curriculum vitae (résumé) that documents prior employment and experience.
· One letter of recommendation from a professor and/or an employer.
· Additional official documentation may be required depending upon an applicant's program of interest or previous educational background.
다행히 GMAT은 면제입니다. 그리고 영어도 IBT 80, IELTS 6.5이상으로 높은 편은 아닙니다. 그러니 이 영어점수도 부담스러울 수가 있습니다. 그런데 전혀 걱정하지 마십시오. Webster MBA는 조건부입학을 허락하여 줍니다. 즉, 영어공부를 하면서 아카데믹 공부를 같이 하게 해줍니다. 물론 자세한 것은 반달곰원장에게 문의하시면 친절하게 안내해드리겠습니다.
매년 가을학기에 시작을 하는 Webster MBA를 시작하기위해서는 8월1일까지는 늦어도 지원을 해야 합니다. 다행히도 롤링베이스로 입학지원서를 받고 있으면 MBA지원하기에 늦었다고 생각하지 마시고 반달곰원장에게 문의하시길 바랍니다. 그리고 Webster MBA의 학비는 학점당 730달러이므로 각 MBA에서 이수해야하는 학점에 곱하면 전체 학비를 알수가 있습니다.
Specialization이 없이 일반 MBA학위를 할 경우는 36학점을 이수하면 됩니다. 36학점 * 730달러=전체 학비 $26,280입니다. 그리고 Specialization을 할 경우 이수해야 할 학점이 더 많은데 보통은 64학점정도를 이수합니다. 그럴 경우 학비는 54학점* 730달러= $39,420입니다. 그래도 여전히 저렴한 학비입니다.
미국에서 GMAT면제를 받고 영어조건을 못맞출 경우 조건부로 입학할 수 있으며 학비도 저렴한 1년제 MBA를 하고자 하는 분들은 미국 세인트루이스 Webster Groves에 위치한 Webster University의 one Year MBA를 적극적으로 고려하시길 바라겠습니다. 아시아학생들, 솔직히 중국학생들과 공부하는 시카고 UIC MBA보다는 훨씬 경제적이고 진짜 미국MBA를 경험할 수가 있습니다. 그럼 Webster MBA에 대해서 관심있는 분들은 반달곰원장에게 문의하시길 바랍니다.
