오늘은 보스톤보다 조금 위에 있는 New Hampshire 주의 Durham시에 있는 University of New Hampshire UNH에 대해서 말씀드리고자 합니다. UNH는 주립대학교로서 Durham, Manchester, Concord등에 캠퍼스를 두고 있는 대학교 시스템입니다. 명문주립대학교인 우리나라 학생들이 많이 알지 못해서인지 지원을 많이 안하는 것 같아서 설명을 드립니다. 먼저 UNH는 어떤 단과대학교가 있는 어떤 전공들이 있는지 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.

위에서 보면 알 수 있듯이 UNH School of Law가 있고 Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics에서 1년제 Full Time MBA,Part Time MBA, online MBA등을 제공하고 있습니다. 그럼 먼저 반달곰원장이 전문으로 컨설팅하는 UNH 1년제MBA에 대해서 설명드리겠습니다.
AACSB인증을 받고 있는 UNH MBA는 1년MBA, Flexible MBA등을 8월부터 제공을 하는 UNH MBA에 지원하기 위해서 필요한 admission requirements를 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.
· 1. Resume
· 2. GMAT/GRE Scores OR a GMAT waiver: MBA applicants may submit either GMAT or GRE scores. Applicants with 5+ years of professional work experience can request to waive these tests. MS Accounting applicants are required to take the GMAT exam; MA/Ph.D. in Economics applicants are required to take the GRE exam.
· 3. Three (3) letters of recommendation from professionals, not family members, who can offer a few words about why you would make a good candidate for graduate school (i.e. bosses, colleagues or professors). An invitation will be sent to them via email from the Graduate School. once you enter their email address, an invitation will be sent to them within 24 hours from the Graduate School. It’s a good idea to check in to see if they have received it.
· 4. Official Transcripts sent directly to the Graduate School. UNH Alumni do not need to request a transcript.
· 5. Essays or personal statement: MBA and MSA applicants are required to complete four essay questions. Economics applicants complete a personal statement.
· 6. Proof of residency: If you are claiming in-state tuition you will need this document with the seal from your town hall. You need to live in NH for a minimum of one year to claim in-state tuition. Mailed directly to the Graduate School.
위에서 보시면 알 수 있듯이 GMAT과 GRE가 필요할 수 있지만 직장 경력이 5년이상일 경우에는 GMAT면제를 받을 수가 있습니다. 그리고 또하나의 중요한 시험인 영어점수는 아래와 같이 요구하고 있습니다.
· TOEFL (Paper Based): 550
· TOEFL (Computer Based): 213
· TOEFL (Internet Based): 80
· IELTS (International English Language Testing System): 6.5
· TOEFL IPT* (Institution Administered): on case-by-case basis
· TOEIC* (Test of English for International Communication): on case-by-case basis
· PTE Academic: 59
영어 토플은 IBT 80, IELTS 6.5이상이면 됩니다. 그리고 토익도 경우에 따라서는 받을 수가 있으므로 영어로 스트레스 받을 일이 적을 것입니다. UNH MBA중에서 online MBA와 Part Time MBA가 US News and World Report지에서 100위안에 랭크되어 있는 좋은 MBA프로그램입니다.
솔직히 UNH MBA처럼 1년MBA이고 AACSB의 인증을 받고 있고, 주립대학교이면서 GMAT이 면제가능하고 영어토플이나 IELTS기준도 높지않고 토익점수도 가능할 수 있기에 정말 좋은 MBA입니다. 게다가 국제학생의 경우 MBA학비는 약 45000달러 정도 됩니다. 학비도 그렇게 비싼 것은 아닙니다. UNH MBA에 올해 입학하기 위해서는 입학지원을 6월 1일까지만 지원을 하면 됩니다.
그리고 마지막으로 UNH School of Law의 사실하나만을 말슴드리고 정리하겠습니다. 앞으로 다시한번 로스쿨 프로그램에 대해서 말씀을 드릴터인데 UNH School of Law중에서 Intellectual Property Law Program은 US News and World Report랭킹에 의하면 미국에서 전체 4위에 오를 정도로 유명합니다. UNH School of Law앞에 있는 학교는 UC Berkeley, Stanford, George Washington University만이 앞에 있을 뿐입니다. UNH School of Law는 훌륭한 방문학자 프로그램 Visiting Scholar Program을 제공하고 있으니 나중에 자세히 안내하여 드리겠습니다.
