미국MBA만큼 좋은 비즈니스스쿨을 많이 가지고 있는 나라가 바로 캐나다인 것 같습니다. 그러나 우리나라 직장인들은 미국MBA선호도가 매우 높기 때문에 캐나다MBA를 잘 가지를 않습니다. 그러나 MBA이후 현지 취업이나 영주권등을 생각한다면 오히려 미국MBA보다는 캐나다MBA가 더 좋을 것입니다. 캐나다에도 University of Toronto Rotman MBA, McGill University Desautels MBA, York University Schulich MBA, UBC Sauder MBA등 세계 탑랭킹의 좋은 MBA들이 있습니다.

오늘은 위의 캐나다 비즈니스스쿨이외에도 훌륭한 MBA인 University of Western ontario 의 Ivey MBA를 소개해드리려고 합니다. Ivey Business School은 캠퍼스를 London, ontario, Canada 에 두고 있는데 Bloomberg Businessweek의 랭킹에 의하면 미국외의 비즈니스스쿨중에서 최고 순위에 랭크되었습니다. 그럼 Ivey Business School이 가지고 있는 랭킹들을 아래와 같이 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.

Rankings

·         In both 2014 and 2015, Bloomberg Businessweek ranked Ivey as the best international business school outside of the United States and the top school in Canada.

·         Wall Street Journal MBA (September 2007): In The Wall Street Journal 's 7th annual ranking of MBA programs, which is based on the perceptions of corporate recruiters around the globe, Ivey was ranked #12 among the top 25 internationally focused business schools.

·         Financial Times MBA, In the Financial Times 2016 annual ranking of MBA programs worldwide, Ivey ranked 88th of the top 100 business schools. Also the same ranking puts Ivey as the 26th business school in FT research rank.

·         QS Top MBA places Ivey as the 12th best MBA program in North America for 2012. The QS Global 200 Business Schools Report are based on employer perceptions of graduates of the programs.

위에서 보면 2015년도와 2015년도 Bloomberg Businessweek MBA랭킹에서 미국외 넘버1 비즈니스스쿨로 랭크되었습니다. 이 뜻은 캐나다에서 뿐만 아니라 영국, 스페인등의 훌륭한 MBA들보다도 훌륭하다고 인정받은 것이라 의미가 있겠습니다. 그럼 이렇게 훌륭한 Ivey Business School에는 one Year MBA와 8개월 Accelerated MBA AMBA이 있습니다. 1년MBA도 인텐시브한 집중MBA인데 이것보다도 더 인텐시브한 8개월MBA가 있다니 놀랍습니다. 그래서 오늘은 Ivey 1년MBA와 AMBA에 대해서 알아보겠습니다. 먼저 Ivey AMBA는 매년 7월에 시작을 합니다. 7월 시작하는 과정에 입학지원하기 위해서는 아래와 같은 데드라인을 참고하시길 바랍니다.

Admissions Requirements

Students applying to the Accelerated MBA Program for Ivey HBA grads must also meet the admissions criteria outlined for the MBA program, with the exception of the GMAT*.  The following documentation is also required:

• Resumé
• Two to three reference letters, one of which must be from an HBA 1 core professor (your Section Head is ideal)
• Transcripts**
• Online Application (Includes two required essays)
• Application fee ($150 CAD)

위에서 보면은 AMBA는 Ivey Business School에서 학부를 졸업한 학생들을 위한 과정이고 지원을 위해서는 영문이력서, 추천서 2부, 영문성적증명서, 온라인지원서, 그리고 application fee150캐나다달러가 필요합니다. 학비는 정규MBA학비의 60%또는 5810달러입니다. 그럼 1년MBA에 대한 정보를 알려드리겠습니다. 1년MBA 지원 데드라인은 아래와 같습니다.

Ivey MBA는 매년 3월에 시작을 하는데 입학지원 마지막 라운드마감은 1월초입니다. 그러나 국제학생들의 경우는 비자등의 문제가 있기에 4라운드 마감일까지 입학지원을 하여야 합니다. 그때 필요한 준비서류는 아래와 같습니다.

Supporting Documentation

·         Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions. one copy of official/certified transcripts will be required if a candidate receives an admissions offer.*

·         GMAT score (Designate Ivey with code CMB-MG-18) OR GRE score (Designate Ivey with code 0292)

·         Résumé demonstrating a minimum of two years, full-time work experience

·         TOEFL score (if required for ESL applicants)

·         Two to three reference letters

·         Online application including completion of two required written essay questions and two required video** questions

·         Application fee of $150 CAD

영어는 IBT 100점, IELTS 7점이상이어야 합니다. 학비는 96750달러입니다. 학비가 저렴하지는 않습니다. 위의 8개월 AMBA와 비교할 때 영어조건을 요구한다는 것과 2년이상의 직장 경력을 요구하고 있다는 것을 잘 생각해야 합니다. 그러므로 직장 경력을 쌓아야 하고 영어점수와 GMAT점수를 만들어서 지원준비하시길 바랍니다. 시작하는 시기가 다른 MBA보다는 빠르기에 지금부터 준비하면 됩니다. 캐나다의 탑랭킹 MBA에 지원하고자 하는 분들은 반달곰원장에게 문의하시길 바랍니다.
