1964년에 설립된 Lancaster MBA는 다른 비즈니스스쿨처럼 역사가 오래되지 않았으나 짧은 시간안에 잘 성장한 비즈니스스쿨이라고 보시면 됩니다. Lancaster MBA는 1년MBA로서 Forbes지에서는 전세계 1년제 MBA랭킹 9위 영국에서는 5위를 차지하였습니다. 그리고도 다른 MBA 랭킹에서도 탑랭킹을 유지하고 있습니다.
이런 탑랭킹 MBA인데도 불구하고 GMAT를 필수로 요구하지는 않습니다. Lancaster MBA admission requirements를 살펴보면서 확인하도록 하겠습니다.
MBA entry requirements
In our admissions process we aim to select MBA candidates with a strong track record of achievement and ability.
To join the Lancaster MBA you must have:
- A good first degree (typically at least an upper 2nd class honours) from a recognised university, or a degree-equivalent professional qualification.
- A minimum of three years' professional work experience since graduation.
Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate that they have strong business experience, and have held significant managerial responsibilities. - Two good references, one from your current employer, and one from someone who can comment on your academic ability.
- A satisfactory interview with a member of Lancaster's admissions team.
- All applicants are required to complete the MBA admissions essay, details regarding this will be provided with your offer
Lancaster MBA 를 위해 필수로 있어야 할 것은 바로 학사학위, 대학졸업후 3년 직장경험, 그리고 좋은 비즈니스 경력과 중요한 매니저경력을 선호되고, 두분의 추천서(한분은 직장, 한분은 대학교). 그리고 Lancaster admission team과의 인터뷰, MBA 에세이입니다. GMAT을 필수조건으로 언급하고 있지 않습니다. 그리고 국제학생들에게 중요한 영어능력은 아래와 같이 요구하고 있습니다.
English language
A suitable level of English language capability is vital.
You must provide evidence of your English language ability. We are looking for an overall IELTS score of 7.0 or above (with at least 6.0 in each element).
You need to ensure that you take your English language test early. If you do not manage to meet our English language requirements you may have the option to join one of our pre-sessional English language courses to get you up to the level needed for the MBA.
We offer two pre-sessional English language programmes: our 10-week programme starts in July and our 4-week programme starts in September. Given the July and September starts for these English language programmes, it is essential that we have your test results as early as possible.
영어점수는 IELTS overall 7.0, 각 밴드 6.0이상을 요구하고 있습니다. 그리고 이런 영어조건을 만족시키지 못했을 경우에는 Lancaster University 가 제공하는 Pre Sessional English Language course를 이수하여 입학할 수도 있습니다. Lancaster University에서는 7월에 시작하는 8주과정과 9월에 시작하는 8주과정 두개를 제공하고 있습니다. 그러므로 영어점수가 약간 모자르더라도 입학할 수 있는 기회가 있으니 과감하게 도전하시길 바라겠습니다. 학비가 28000파운드, 브렉시트로 파운드가 약한 지금 환율 계산하면 한화로 4400만원 정도 합니다. 영국MBA 를 도전할 절호의 기회인 것 같습니다.
