오늘은 반달곰원장이 고려대학교 MBA프로그램을 소개하면서 언급하였던 ESCP Europe 에 대해서 말씀을 드리겠습니다. 우리나라 학생들은 솔직히 ESCP Europe이 익숙하지는 않을 것입니다. 조금은 생소하지만 알고 보면 정말 좋은 대학교이고 재미있다는 생각을 하게 될 것 입니다.
먼저 ESCP Europe 에 대해서 설명을 드리겠습니다. ESCP Europe은 한 도시에만 있는 학교가 아니라 유럽의 주요도시인 Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, Turin 그리고 Warsaw에 캠퍼스를 두고 있는 대학교입니다. 원래는 1819년 프랑스 파리에서 설립되었는데 그것은 세계에서 가장 오래된 비즈니스 스쿨이었습니다. 그리고 여러 저명한 MBA랭킹지로부터 세계에서 그리고 유럽에서 가장 훌륭한 비즈니스스쿨의 하나로 인정을 받고 있습니다.
ESCP Europe은 가장 많이 선택하는 Grandes ecoles중의 하나이고 영어로 three Paisians 라는 뜻의 trois Parisiennes 중에 하나라고 불려지는데 그 세개의 학교는 바로 프랑스의 유명한 비즈니스 스쿨인 HEC와 ESSEC Business School을 두고 하는 말입니다.
그리고 ESCP Masters in Management 프로그램은 지속적으로 파이낸셜타임지에 의해서 세계에서 가장 좋은 프로그램중에 하나로 인정받고 있습니다. 실제로 2010년 파이낸셜타임지는 ESCP Master in Management를 세계1 위로 선정하였고 2015년에는 ESCP의 Masters in Finance를 세계 3위로 올려놓았습니다. Executive MBA는 세계 13위를 기록하였습니다. Paris Chamber of Commerce에 의해서 인증을 받고 있는 ESCP Europe은 AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA등 세계 3대인증기관의 인증을 모두 받은 64개 학교중의 하나입니다.
이런 ESCP Europe의 대표적인 프로그램은 바로 Master in Management MIM입니다. 2년 Full Time MIM의 특징을 살펴보면 아래와 같습니다.
- A two-year, full-time intercultural general management programme
- Ranked 1st in the 2015 Financial Times Master in Management league table in Germany, Spain, Italy and Poland; 2nd in the UK and 3rd in France.
- An integrated intercultural programme curriculum taught across five ESCP Europe campuses
- The opportunity to study in a minimum of two, and a maximum of three different countries
- 70 partner universities worldwide, more than 20 of which offer double-degree options
- Designed for students with Bachelor degrees (or equivalent) in any field of study
- One-year pre-master option for students without a Bachelor degree (having previously completed at least two years of university education) in preparation for the Master programme
- Supported by ESCP Europe's extensive Alumni Association network (45,000 members and counting) and close ties with the business world
- Five seminars, including Start@Europe which is held at the European Parliament
- At least two integrated internships
- The option of gap years or apprenticeships
- Excellent employment rates, with 74% of the most recent graduating class employed before even completing their studies
HULT International Business School처럼 적어도 두군데 캠퍼스 많게는 3군데 캠퍼스에서 공부할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 있고 전세계적으로 70여개의 파트너 대학교를 가지고 있는데다가 그중의 20여개 학교는 double degree를 제공 하고 있습니다. 졸업전에 무려 74%의 학생들이 취업이 될 정도로 매우 훌륭한 취업율을 보여주고 있는 곳이 바로 ESCP Europe 입니다.
ESCP Europe MIM은 2년 과정입니다. 1년의 학비는 17900유로이므로 2년이면 35800유로입니다. 적지않은 학비이지만 미국 석사과정에 비하여 저렴한 편입니다. 그리고 ESCP Europe에는 Executive MBA는 있지만 Full time MBA는 없습니다. 그러므로 우리나라 고려대학교 MBA중의 하나인 글로벌MBA를 하면서 복수학위과정으로 ESCP Europe MIM을 하는 것이 현실적으로 가장 좋은 안이 될 수가 있습니다. 그리고 GMAT을 요구하지 않기에 입학하기도 쉽습니다.
