오늘은 반달곰원장이 음대입학과련 하여 미국대학교를 말씀드리겠습니다. 몇년전에 Indiana University Jacobs School of Music에 Performer Diploma 과정에 입학수속을 도와서 합격을 시켰었습니다. 간만에 다른 명문대학교의 예술대학교의 입학에 대해서 안내를 드리는 것 같습니다.

모든 지원자는 악기나 보컬 오디션 봐야함. In addition, applicants will have an interview with a music education faculty member that includes singing any folk song and a test, where applicants echo-sing (a capella) 24 tonal patterns and 8 rhythmic patterns of varying difficulty.

Music Education Licensure and Teaching Experience
학부에서도 Music Education 전공했어야 함. 또한, 지원자 모두 음악 교사 자격증 있어야함.ㅣ Hartt's Music Education Division strongly recommends that applicants have at least one year (for master's degree) and three years (for PhD) of teaching experience at an elementary or secondary, public or private school before beginning their MMEd.
Music Education applicants should submit a video of their teaching by the application deadline. The video should present 30 minutes of teaching elements, concepts, or performance techniques in a classroom setting demonstrating modeling, feedback, and other effective instructional strategies. Confirmation of your interview date will follow a positive review of the preliminary teaching video.

Music History

Undergraduate applicants are required to interview with a member of the Hartt Music History faculty. The interview provides an opportunity for the applicant to discuss the program and a career in music history. It also allows the faculty member to learn more about the applicant's background and training in music.
Undergraduate applicants are also required to audition on a classical instrument or voice. The audition ensures that the applicant is at a performance level sufficient to participate in one of the school's ensembles, an essential component of the music history program.

Applicants to the master’s degree program should have a bachelor’s degree in music history or its equivalent.
Scholarship and Research Emphasis: Applicants in Music History- Scholarship and Research emphasis are required to interview with a faculty member in the music history department. The required research paper must be received at least two weeks prior to the interview. Learn more about the research paper.
Performance Practice Emphasis: Applicants in the music history/performance practice emphasis are required to interview with a faculty member in the music history department. The required research paper must be received at least two weeks prior to the interview. A classical instrument or voice audition is also required.

Music production & technology is a Bachelor of Music program, and therefore requires an interview and an instrumental or vocal audition. The audition must be in one of the following categories: classical, jazz, or commercial music, each having its own specific guidelines.

Preliminary Conducting Video for Orchestral/Instrumental Conducting Applicants
Instrumental/orchestral conducting applicants will submit application materials and prepare a short preliminary video (20 minute maximum), containing two or three sections of contrasting material. The position of the camera should be facing the conductor. It is recommended that the student also submit an audio recording, of approximately the same length, demonstrating additional conducting experience. If possible, a segment should be included showing the applicant conducting one movement of a substantial work. Enclosed with the video should be a cover letter indicating the applicant's intended program and major, and a written statement expressing the reasons for interest in the chosen career and major. Once the preliminary video is reviewed, applicants may be contacted with an invitation to audition in person on an arranged date.

음대의 입학에서는 영어점수등을 높이 요구하지는 않습니다. 그래도 기본적으로 낮은 점수라도 토플이나 IELTS점수를 요구하므로 영어준비를 잘 하시고 나머지 입학서류는 반달곰원장에게 도움 원하시면 도와드리겠습니다.
