반달곰원장이 요즘 네델란드대학교를 많이 소개하고 있는데요, 그 만큼 좋은 대학교들이 네델란드에 많은데 우리들이 잘 모르는 것 같아서 소개를 해드립니다. 오늘은 Maastricht University에 대해서 말씀드리겠습니다. 그전에 소개해뎠던 대학교들이 역사가 매우 오래된 전통있는 대학교들이었다면 Maastricht University는 상대적으로 젊은 대학교라고 할 수가 있습니다.
1976년 네델란드 Maastricht 지역에 생긴 공립대학교로서 네델란드에 있는 13개 대학교중에서 2번째로 젊은 대학교입니다. 2013년 통계를 보면 16000명의 학생들이 공부를 하는데 그중에 47%가 네델란드 출신이 아닌 국제학생들입니다. 그래서 네델란드에서 가장 국제적인 대학교 most international university라고 이야기를 합니다.
학사과정의 절반이상은 영어러 수업이 제공되고, 석사과정들은 대부분이 영어로 강의가 진행됩니다. 그럼 Maastricht University의 대표적인 랭킹을 살펴보면 짧은 역사에도 불구하고 얼마나 훌륭하게 학교를 성장시켜왔는지를 알 수가 있습니다.
Rankings and reputation
In the QS Top 50 Under 50, which ranks the top 50 universities under 50 years old around the world, Maastricht University reached 6th place in 2014.
In a similar list published by Times Higher Education (THE 100 Under 50 universities 2016), Maastricht University was placed 4th in the world.
According to Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015/16, Maastricht University occupied 88th position in the world rank.
The university's medical and health care faculties reached 45th place worldwide in 2014. QS World University Rankings 2014 ranked Maastricht University as the 118th best university in the world (3 up from the previous year),
while Academic Ranking of World Universities (or Shanghai Ranking) counted Maastricht among the world's top 300 universities, since 2011.

위에서 보셨듯이 역사가 50년미만인 젊은 대학교 순위에서는 손가락안에 꼽힐 정도로 탑랭킹 대학교입니다. 전체적인 랭킹에서도 전세계 대학교중에서 100위국 에서 300위권을 유지하고 있으니 정말 훌륭하다고 할 수 있겠습니다.
